That said, it has run perfectly for me after doing everything in the article above, so it's worth a try if anyone here's having crash issues.
I always disable automatic software updates. Also for nVidia.
When I manually install a new driver, I always pick the "custom install".
Not much custom about it, you can only select which parts to install and which not.
I always pick only the graphics driver (that's mandatory) and PhysicsX.
I skip the rest. The less crap on my system, the better.
The last time I had a game crashing on me was years and years ago.
TW3 runs flawlessly here. (gtx-680, i5-3570K, 8GB of RAM, Win7.1).

I generally take the same approach, and it usually serves me pretty well. Still, W3 has been temperamental to say the least.

Still haven't any CTD bugs, although I did have one incident where attempting to reload the latest save just resulted in the game "resuming" with Geralt lying dead on the ground.

Malf (I believe) and I have the newer Maxwell Geforces, which from what I understand, aren't quite as mature driverwise as your Kepler chip. That's probably why you're seeing less crashes than I am.
Sucks for me, but I get to run the game at a higher framerate with all the options on. :P

I do indeed have a GTX 970. Saying that, since those 3 crashes in the morning on Thursday, the game's been pretty rock solid for me, only crashing once today.
And IT'S STILL GETTING BIGGER.
Discovered a concoction today (think it's Ekimara) that heals you every time you use an ability that expends stamina.
I can still die if I'm not careful, but it's made me a lot more resilient, and I no longer rely on Swallow and shitloads of wolf liver. If things get hairy in combat, I hit whirlwind or whatever it is and get health back. Outside of combat, a few jumps and I'm at full health.

It's funny, I just discovered the same potion. Problem is, I'm later in the game than you are, so it doesn't restore nearly as much health for me. Gotta find the enhanced version somewhere.
...and while I'm at it, see if I can find the enhanced boots, pants, and gloves, and steel sword of the Cat set.
Oh, and since changing those settings, I haven't experienced a single crash in the hour and a half I've played it today. I'm still not sure if that fixed it, or I'm having another stretch of good luck, though.

Are you sure you've got the same one Renz?
I meant decoction in my previous post, not concoction, and decoctions don't have enhanced versions!
I'm level 24, and the thing works just fine for me. In addition, I already have the enhanced cat set, and have all of the diagrams for the next tier which unlocks at 26. So while you may be further in the story, I suspect we may be level-pegging level-wise.
Edit: Just checked; it's Ekhidna decoction, not Ekimara.

Okay, we're gonna pretend for a second that I'm not a total idiot. :P
First off, I'm currently level 31. You come to a point in the game where you start getting experience like a kid getting candy on Halloween. It shot me ahead about 4-5 levels in a relatively short amount of time.
Secondly, I have a mix of the Cat set. My boots, chest, and silver sword have been upgrade to the superior set, while the rest of my set is just the basic. Not exactly sure how I missed getting those few pieces, because it seems to give all the schematics to you for the entire set per quest. But somehow, I did.
Thirdly. I'm using the Ekimmara Decoction, which restores vitality for damage dealt, not stamina spent. It doesn't seem to be nearly as useful, due to the fact it doesn't restore your health based upon any calculation, rather it gives you a sliver or two back every time you land a hit. I'm thinking I don't have the Ekhinda Decoction, because I would've jumped on it the first chance I could if I did.
Oh, and I finally (

To be completely honest, the Ekhidna Decoction is probably too powerful. I've specced in to fast attacks and Whirl, and simply triggering Whirl is enough to completely restore my health bar, even if I have barely any health left.

I've had better results by upgrading my Quen sign. Do that and having enough points in your signs tree to have fast stamina regen gets fantastic results. All you need to do is deliberately allow an enemy to land a few hits to replenish health.
One thing that I am appreciating is that unlike most RPG's where your course of action and its consequences are usually pretty clear cut, it can be difficult on how to achieve a desired outcome.
For example I wanted to keep The Baron's Wife alive. In the quest in which I encountered her it was the seemingly "good" choice that results in her being killed, the baron dying, and worse. In that particular quest I'd already completed Kiera's option quest and learned the hard way that unlike most other RPGs sometimes you're better off trusting the original quest giver and that not everyone who appears to be a victim actually is.
