I'm working from an imported save, but as far as I know, you will be questioned regarding your choices once you leave White Orchard.

Personally I don't like polish version very much. I tried it because everyone said it was the best way to experience the game, but I find the polish voice acting way to forced and stiff, expecially Geralt himself. Everytime he says something he really means "I'm the most badass polish voice actor you can get". The english one is still very badass but oozes personality and love for the work he's doing, unlike the polish voice actor - that's my opinion, ofc.
I'm currenty replaying Witcher 2, and Polish version varies from stiff to cringe-worthy. Especially the stylized parts: you can clearly hear that actors just read their lines, sometimes struggling quite much. The English version is more... inoffensive, I guess. It gives up the attempts to emulate the style in order not to distract you from playing. It's a safe approach, sure, but effective.

One question for those who've started playing:
Does the PC version allow me to manually re-create a witcher 2 save the way the console version do or do I have to import a save? If I can how do I do that?
Yes, you can either import a W2 save or simulate it just like the console version does.

Alright, enough of my bitching! I've been getting used to the controls finally (protip: walk slower) and delving into the story. I also just realize -
the combat is really fun! At first it was brutal as hell and I'd re-do each fight like 5 times barely scraping by, but it forced me to start thinking more strategically - try to isolate enemies one at a time, getting trapped between two guys is death, know when to side-step and when to dodge-roll, etc. It actually feels like proper fighting, rather than mash-mash-mash in most games :D The cool thing is that it feels I've improved, rathern than just upped my stats (tho finding a new sword and crafting a better vest sure helped). I've been tackling on random baddies just for the hell of it cause it's fun, and different enemies require different strategies too.
But I have a
question: anyone feels leveling is super slow? I think I'm like 4-5hrs in and JUST reached level 2. With so many abilities it seems it will get forever to really unlock stuff. And do you only get XP for completing quests and not figting monsters? Seems that way.

Hmm, I would agree that Geralt is pretty wooden in Polish, and from the little I heard of the English one, he seems much more charismatic.
However, I really find the random wandering NPCs voice acting great, as it really reflect the peasant dialect well imho. Ironically, it almost feels like the quality of VC is inversely proportional the the importance of the NPC.

Yeah, I mentioned the seemingly steep levelling curve in my previous post, but last night I made massive in-roads.
When you start the game proper, think of the map as being like the first map in the original Witcher. It's one big tutorial area. The map really opens up after certain events.
Most of your XP will be gained through questing, not killing things, and most of your ability points will come from places of power, not levelling.
Basically, once I knuckled down and started bouncing from question mark to question mark on the map, I started levelling up and increasing in power really quickly.

Well, thanks everyone for sharing your opinions on the language issue. It's quite an oddity but good to know that the Polish books have significantly more quality to them.

Okay, I'm getting a bit miffed with the amount this game crashes. Last night, after knocking a couple of settings down and not really noticing a visual difference, I had a much better experience, with only one crash early on in the evening.
However, this morning I decided to have a quick go as I'd just completed the first area and was keen to see what the new one offered.
I had 3 CTDs in 15 minutes.
Now yes, the game's fast to load, so it's quite quick to get back into the game, but where before I was quicksaving frequently because I found the combat hard, I'm now saving every minute or so in case I crash. It really is that bad.
I hope nVidia and CDPR get this resolved quickly, as the game is great and just starting to get awesome, but I can't be doing with constant CTDs.

This is one reason I'm thankful for my backlog - by the time I get round to playing games, they're usually several patches in.
Nvidia seem to be pretty good with getting game-specific patches out, so I won't be surprised if they have one for TW3 soon given how much exposure the game has.

That's the kicker; nVidia released a Witcher 3 driver the day before release, and I promptly installed it, but 50% of the time after crashing to desktop I see a Windows message telling me the nVidia driver has stopped working and has recovered.
Fallen+Keeper on 21/5/2015 at 14:04
I'm running the game with 344.11. Not going to change it just because nvidia says they have "Witcher 3 ready" drivers. My experience is smooth like butter at high settings (hairworks off). I only have crashes when I view the inventory, and some strange slight stuttering when near some buildings. Other than that it's a great day 1 optimization.
I will wait for the 1.03 and stay away from new drivers until I really NEED to update. In my personal experience, updating your drivers everytime someone says you should (and everyone does) can only cause problems.
