Is anybody playing W3 with an imported W2 savegame? I do and it seems that it doesn't import W2 weapons... this or the savegame import mechanism is bugged.
Can anyone confirm it?

I keep wanting to use the shoulder buttons to attack, and I end up screwing myself over some way, some how.
Sounds like
someone has a case of the Dark Souls.
In other news, I just purchased some new computer components, so may actually be able to run this is decent settings, which coincides nicely with the fact that my new GPU comes with a copy of TW3, but not with the fact that I've yet to complete the first game :/

None of the equipment is imported. Only choices and, for some reason, the Blue Stripes tattoo if you got one and didn't remove it :P

That's strange... considering that W2 and W3 share the basic technology I would have expected more imported elements than W1->W2.
On the other hand however items imported from W1 to W2 were useless anyway so I can live with it. I love what they did with everything else though.

Never again will I spend all day playing videogames. I've got a headache from the eyestrain, and I feel like someone's beat me with an oar.

Good enough to play ALL DAY eh? Man, am I gonna have to get this after all? Everyone is raving about it.
Somehow it seems Conan's Clueless Gamer episode about it has been posted yet, and it's pretty great, so:

I wish so much I had time to play all three games in a row (maybe the first with one of the difficulty mods which are supposed to be available) because I'm really in the mood for some medieval/fantasy/wanderlust romanticism, but... well... time. :( On the bright side, the blacksmith should have a prototype replica of a 15th cent. longsword ready soon, this will hopefully upgrade our training a bit (larger image because everyone here upgraded their rigs):

http://fs1.directupload.net/images/150520/n8bbonbq.jpgSince you were talking about the different languages: I probably asked that before but the Witcher novels in their German translations read like mediocre Internet fanfiction. The content/lore is arbitrarily pieced together (e. g. Grimm's fairytales, allusions to modern stuff – Yaevinn at one point refers to his bow like a modern sports archer would), the writing style is veeeeery simple with the occasional (failed) attempt to insert artistically-appealing narration and the sexual content looks like some fat economic science guy's shower fantasies. :p Now there are a few reviewers on Amazon who share my opinion, most others praise the books for their mature blabla content. Plus, I admit that some other fantazja stuff by Sapkowski (same translator!) reads much better. Now I'd like to know if this is indeed a translation problem or that one could raise this criticism in the Polish version, too....? It didn't stop me from reading the whole series but I wish it was less of a chore. :erg:

Beleg, it is definitely a translation problem. Sapkowski is known for his mastery of language.
I teach literature. Citations from Sapkowski's books are often used as an example of sophisticated stylization (with postmodern flavour). He is like, say, Italo Calvino of fantasy.

Ok the controls are seriously driving me crazy. running is fine but every time I stop and try to move again, it takes like half a second for Geralt to react and he always breaks into this half run taking a big first step.
so basically imagine me standing next to a bush and not being able to fucking pick the flowers because each time i try to take a step towards it, Geralt does a delayed giant step and over shoots it. I try to step back, and he does another giant step, the camera flips out sonce he now faces the other way and I pressed the move key too soon so now he sidesteps away from the bush and ..
I. Can't. Pickup. The. Fucking. Flower.
This is so annoying Jesus. its even worse when youre around multiple bushes or inside a hut, and end up doing the awkward lumbering sidestepping hoping to get in the right position each time. It's the most awkward thing ever ...
But another gem was a fist fight inside a tiny room. Every time I dodged Geralt ended up facing towards the camera and because of the tiny space it meant the enemy was off screen. And you use the same thumb to either adjust camera or punch / evade so if I tried to fix my view i lose half my health getting punched.
Also apparently you can't Pull up the radial menu to change your sign while rolling so trying to switch to the shield ir ard/igni sign while desperately avoiding an enemy pummeling you is nigh on impossible
I'm using the 360 pad and haven't seen anyone else complain so I feel like I'm doing something horribly wrong. But this is seriously getting in the way of enjoying the game.
