In any case, having some Zerrikanian extras wandering around Novigrad wouldn't hurt, it'd fit the status of the city as a centre of trade.

Only to some little extent. I never understood Chmielarz supporting #GG, as the 'journalist ethics' topic was always a distraction from acts of harassment. Somehow he sees something deeper in it. Also, his writing is somewhat annoying, he always presents himself as a central figure in every topic he addresses. You could easily make this article 3 times shorter and still get to the point.

I don't get that either. He has some good points, but associating yourself with Gamersgate, even though they too had some occasionally good points once you got away from the seething, diseased core of it, is still pretty dumb.
If I were to sum the whole Feminist Frequency/Gamersgate ordeal up in one easy to read sentence, it'd be this:
What we have is an important topic, being debated by groups representing two extremes, each mistaking righteous indignation for reason, helmed mostly by people who aren't as smart as they think they are.

As much as I hate to link Wikipedia their information here is largely accurate. The picture it paints is very different from the women being "little more than sex slaves" meme that 20th century historians fabricated. Women's rights also varied considerably depending on the region with their rights being strongest in continental Western Europe.

interesting, I might stand corrected. Tho the sad thing is it seems on the lowe echelons of society the equality stemmed more from shared poverty than gender beliefs.

It isn't forced diversity, which is something I'm very much against. The way I see it, including, say, a black character just to have a black character around for the simple sake of it is an empty gesture.
But making a game about a black character from a black perspective, that's something else entirely. The reason why I think there should be a higher quantity of games with minority characters is because, really, there aren't that many. So many stories that could be told from so many different perspectives that we're just not getting.
Then stop whining and make a kickstarter that's about a black character from a black perspective.
For the Witcher, I mean christ...just ONCE FOR FUCKS SAKE can't it be OK to have a game that exists as a story on it's own without pushing the creepy anti-life, anti-hope cynical attitude of the progressives. Hell the Witcher is one of the only games left where the characters are recognizeable as human beings.

I've come to the conclusion that both descriptions of Gamergate are inaccurate. It's neither about "ethics" or "harassment". What they're doing is taking the the bullying tactics used by progressives and giving progressives a taste of their own medicine. They see themselves as bullying the bullies.
It's resulted in some amusing turns.
To see Gawker, an organization which routinely uses smear campaigns to destroy lives, crying crocodile tears about "harassment" is satisfying in the extreme.

If anyone is planning on buying the game on GOG, you can get a 27% off voucher through Green Man Gaming that will give you a GOG key upon release. I believe you have to be on their mailing list to get it.
Normally if you pre-order through GOG, even if you already own both of the previous Witcher games, the discount is 20%, so this one is a little better.
Yakoob on 17/5/2015 at 21:28
Oh? That kinda sucks for those of us who pre-ordered on GoG :/ I wonder if it's Greenman's own thing or if they negotiated a deal with CD Projekt...

Thanks for illustrating my point perfectly, Tony. No matter which side you're on, once the usual bevy internet chucklefucks got involved, it became a slapflight amongst a bunch of whining little overreacting navelgazing halfwits who love playing the victim, always crying their bitter tears of repression as they happily do to others what they claim others unfairly do to them.
It's so difficult to discuss something so important when everyone involved has their heads shoved up their own asses.
BUT ANYWAY
How about that Witcher 3, huh?

CDPR are not working with GMG, and have advised not buying TW3 from them, saying the keys are of unknown origin.
Renault on 18/5/2015 at 14:26
Sounds like GMG disputes that, and claim the keys were bought from a 3rd party approved CDRP vendor. In that scenario, the money would, of course, go to CDRP. If the keys are valid, I don't know how the money couldn't go to them - they would have been purchased by someone, somewhere at some point, directly from CDRP.
That said, I haven't received my key yet, so we'll see tomorrow if it actually works!
