Bastards.
I don't have a problem with them making money off of Fileplanet, I used to be a subscriber a little over a year ago. But if all this hype is just over a members only gameplay video or something then I'll be a little irked...and so will alot of other people.
Someone might actually write an angry 15 page internet rant about how stupid they are over it. I'm hoping that Fileplanet knows better than to invoke mass videogame fan nerd rage...

Remember what happened with the Call of Duty demo?
Anyway, I really would like to subscribe to the Gamespy's Founder's Club service. It's not that much, and you get a whole lot of content. (I just need a job first.)

I think they recieved enough backlash and got burned enough from the whole CoD experience that they'll know better than to do that again.
But back when I was rich subscribing to fileplanet was pretty cool. From my experiences they have some of the fastest servers around and you don't have to wait in line to get anything, plus you have all those free betas you can sign up for.
Even now that I'm poor as dirt and don't have a subscription anymore I still use fileplanet to get most my stuff. Yeah, I might have to wait in line 40 minutes but I always seem to get stuff at 350k a sec when I do finally get to download it. That's alot better than jumping right onto a server without a line and having to wait 40 minutes to get a download I could get in 5 at Fileplanet....okay, yeah..I still end up waiting just as long but it's more satisifying...or something.
Hey, we all got our kinks alright...I like getting stuff fast even though I have to wait for it...don't judge me.

But yes, definitely demo, probably subscribers only, less likely torrent.

One of the Gamespot associate editors claimed it wouldn't be subscribers only on the Ion Storm boards. Better make sure there's nothing important to do come tomorrow...

/me babbles on again that a GameSpot Complete membership is the best $25/year a gamer can spend, and makes plans to call his wife mid-day tomorrow and tell her the URL to start downloading the demo, so it can be on his desktop when he gets home from work.

A friend of mine just noted that he read somewhere that it'd be a fileplanet subscriber exclusive for the first 24 hours, then released normally. But I bet it won't take four hours for the demo to show up on various filesharing services after it's released... ;)
