Arrgh! :)
Could one of you try switching to the custom resolution at the native resolution of the screen, e.g.
Code:
[Screen]
CustomResWidth=1920
CustomResHeight=1080
CustomResRefresh=0
Resolution=0
Be sure to start the game using the new desktop icon (or by directly clicking DeusEx2.exe).
Also, does it make a difference if you switch to windowed mode?

Never mind. I can reproduce the hang on my old laptop. I'll try to get it figured out this weekend.

Sorry I took so long to post back. I know your working on it but I have the original retail version with patch applied. Once visible upgrade was uninstalled it ran fine as always. If you mean the unpatched while it was installed then no it didn't work either. I look forward to the new version.

(

This installer will add a desktop icon to the log file (new in this version, logging is WIP), which may be useful (or not).

Maybe you tried to run the unpatched game using an old shortcut? When the VU is installed, old icons will also launch the patched game, but they will run it through the DX2.exe launcher, which in case of the GOG version will make it run in administrator mode. :nono: If you did try to run the unpatched game through the VU start menu shortcut and it didn't work, then that's a separate issue.
To avoid confusion the alpha2 installer will make an additional desktop icon for the unpatched game. Please use the "Deus Ex 2 with Visible Upgrade" and "DX2 Unpatched" icons to start the patched/unpatched game...
Thanks in advance for testing! :thumb: (Assuming it will even start up this time.)
Edit: Link updated after being temporarily removed.

Without dgVoodoo2 the process remains in background processes pool
That's hopefully fixed now.

With dgVoodoo2 I got this error:
With dgVoodoo2+ReShade 3 DXIW starts (!) but the menu is totally shrinked! :D
Better hold off on the wrappers until the basic game is running adequately. :)

Yes - I think T3 FM authors get to see a few of those...

Sounds like I'll have to get the Steam version as well. :rolleyes:

Same issue as before. It launches and then minimizes and stays there. If I click on it all that's there when it opens is the curser or nothing. Unpatched works fine as it minimizes and opens back up with the game. Hope you can figure this out.

Very strange. Please post the contents of the log file after you've attempted to run the game.
Also, can you describe in more detail what happens after you click the icon - do you see the short intro movies? The loading screen? The menu? Or is it just an empty window?
When you say that the unpatched game minimizes, is this after you start a new or saved game from the menu?

DX2 keeps remaining in background processes pool (~3 MB memory).
Windows 10 64 bit, lastest version vith lastest patches.
