Dude, you're the one who keeps pushing the scary black/Muslim pastor button without prompting.
There is nothing racist about bringing up religious leaders,
that dog won't hunt.
Read the post I responded to again for context if objectiveness is eluding you to such a degree that your phantoms obfusgate my intended message.

I read it through several times, and was hard-pressed to think an even more non-sequiturish way to namedrop Jeremiah Wright.
You just couldn't help yourself, could you?

This thread is turning into a good example of why American two party politics is screwed up. We can't sustain political discourse or the exchange of ideas for long before the blind partisanship starts, and then everybody retreats to their party lines and starts mudslinging. We act like fans of our favorite sports team in the middle of a championship game, bitching about the refs (i.e. the media), demonizing the other team, excusing our own team's bad behavior and poor sportsmanship, etc.
It's not like that's particularly unique to American politics though. This type of anti-intellectual groupthink benefits the powers that be just about everywhere, and clanish distractions have kept us in the dark for millenia.

The McCain campaign's cowardice in refusing to allow Sarah Palin to give an interview is inexcusable.
Palin is set to appear on ABC with Charles Gibson sometime this week or the next. She has allready done a couple of interviews elsewhere (in-print), but they were pretty much just eyerollers devoid of anything worth mention.
Word on the street is that she (
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/09/sarah-palin-opr.html) wont be appearing on Oprah anytime soon.
Personally I'm more interested in next months VPN debate.

Good. Some strategist was talking about "at least" two weeks before they let her out. It's hard to give any credit to a politician who won't sit down and talk about their views. The other three are well known but we know more about her family than we do her policies.
(Next week is still kind of lame though. If she's ready she's ready.)

The "powers that be"? And here I was thinking that it was just human nature ...
(Except mine, of course.)

I agree, that's why I'm eager to see her make or break herself during the debates.
It's interesting that Mccain is (
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jiFjAC7TR-Qo1kvn0dpPtYBniUtQD9324DDO1) trying to get away from the 'Mcmore of the same' perception. Most likely just more lip service, but given his history there's an off chance that there may be some meat in there somewhere. In any event, I love visualizing the Rove camp biting their tongues in anguish, unable to do anything but suck it up in a bid to keep the whitehouse.

I think from reading theBlackman's comments in this thread I finally "get" the principles and ideals of the founding fathers of America.
That's not a jab at his age, either.

She's not. Apparently getting lectured on foreign policy by Joe Lieberman. Oh boy..

I don't see how this is necessarily a bad thing.
Lieberman is a tool, but if there is one thing Biden knows it's foreign policy, and Palin will need all the help she can get. Surely there will be other 'tutors' as well, as there have been for every past VP, and many POTUS as well.
Politics aside, this isn't underhanded or backwards, it's just expedient.
