I'm posting this thread in hopes that UW3 does get released.
What if UW3 does get released? What would we (the gamers or... the fans) like to see in it? What would we like to see changed, removed, added or modified...
besides graphics folks Inline Image:

Also, if you saw some interesting features in Thief 1&2 or System Shock2 (or any other game for that matter)... which ones would you like to see implemented into UW3?
What types of gameplay would you want? Do you want it to have multiplayer support? If you want multiplayer what kinds of multiplayer modes do you want (i.e., Coop, Deathmatch, etc. etc.)? Please tell us how you would implement the multi-mode you picked?
Come on folks, we all want to see UW3 released... what do we, as LGS's fans, want to see in it.
Later...

I hope they have those trippy mushrooms again because that was the best part, man.

Good graphics but can run on a decent computer without 3d acceleration. mustn't have frame rate drops and always run smooth. have multiple difficulty setting(for AI, etc.)like SS1. scary soundtrack(ex. realms of the haunting) and good plot without Baldur's Gate/Planescape's 'i woke up and i don't remember a thing' story.

I had a thought-
UUW1 and 2 had gameplay elements which the Dark engine seems to support, such as swordplay, arrows, RPG elements, etc.
So I was thinking, why couldn't they make an Underworld 3 with the existing engine? All it would really invove would be some spells and XP source-code and new models & levels. Hell, I bet that the entire project could be completed in 6 months easy!
So, waddya think? Too goofy or what?

Hmmmmmmmmmm... by golly holmes, I think he's on to something. Use the Dark engine you say sir? Goofy... no. Great ideas are hardly ever goofy.
Tweak that engine like there was no tomorrow & you might have a great addition to the UW series.

I have a lot of things I'd like to see in UW3, but here's one that's of paramount importance: story.
Story, story, story.
Underworld was brilliant for many reasons, but what "affected" me most was the storyline. Not the standard "rescue the fair maiden" nonsense that was the actual plot of the game, but the backstory of the Underworld itself; how it all came together, and how it all fell apart. I won't say it was great tragedy, but it sure as hell was the single most involving storyline I'd ever seen in a computer game.
The technology is available to make UW3 an amazing game, a mesmerizing concoction of graphics and sounds. But don't sacrifice the story in the name of one more flashy spell effect, because when it's all over, what you'll remember is the tale that was told.
Man, I want to see UW3. When people ask me what upcoming game I'm anticipating the most, I always answer, "Underworld 3." They invariably tell me there is no such thing coming, and I say I know, but dare to dream...

Malygris, I agree with you on this one. The story is the backbone, a good story makes a great game!
