So I managed to snag a PS5 (which should arrive today) directly from Sony. I was a little surprised to see there wasn't already a PS5 thread here, so I'm starting one.
First and foremost, it's all about the games, so I'd really like to get some reccos here from existing PS5 owners.
That said - PS5 games are expensive! So I picked up a disc version, and plan on buying some used stuff. To get started, I picked up:
-Demon's Souls
-Returnal
Figured these two will keep me busy for a while (in addition to Astro's Playroom, that comes with).
Looking at these titles down the road:
-Horizon Forbidden West (still have to play the first one)
-Control (Ultimate Edition) - Always wanted to try this one out, sounds like the PS5 version is the best one
-Death Stranding DC
-Ghost of Tsushima DC
Also want to play some PS4 games that have PS5 enhancements, like Cyberpunk, Far Cry 6, Days Gone, etc.
In addition, I have quite a few PSVR games, and I'll be curious to see how much better they run on the PS5. I read that Blood & Truth has a PS5 patch, so definitely want to check that out.
As far as future games, I saw a trailer for (

Demon's Souls was going to be my main recommendation; it's a near-flawless remake of the original and probably the best-looking and best-sounding game on the system.
If you haven't played Deathloop, the PS5 version is good, very smooth.
I had to buy Ratchet and Clank as part of the bundle I got, and while it's not my favourite type of game, technically it's amazing, a real showpiece for the system.
For PS4 games The Last of Us Remastered and God of War both look great on PS5 and run at 60FPS. Bloodborne is excellent if you haven't played it already, but it features no enhancements whatsoever :( There's also an enhanced version of Rez called Rez Infinite that looks as beautiful as I remember it looking on my old Xbox 360; great techno/shooter/art game. A lot of PS4 games don't have specific enhancements but will run at 60FPS on PS5.
I've been playing a lot of Gran Turismo 7. If you're into driving sims there's also Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and Dirt Rally 2.0, all of which are quite realistic and go on decent sale. ACC has specific PS5 enhancements, better framerate and resolution. But if you only want one, get GT7.
Can't forget Elden Ring, which is great though it has a bit of a performance problem in that the framerate fluctuates.
You should also download The Matrix Awakens UE5 demo just to see how detailed PS5 graphics can get.

Added you, Aja. I'm LeeMajorz6k :)
I've played lots of games on the PS5 since getting it but I think the only sclusie I've played is Spider-Man Miles Morales. Which was very good! Tho if you haven't played the first Spider-Man game yet go with that one, as it's better I'd say.
Astro's Playroom plays so well I felt it was wasted on being a Playstation commercial of a game. If they'd had a good story mode for it, it might've been a really great platformer.

Here's that Forspoken trailer, because, I love trailers, and the game looks really cool.

Didn't see your request, henke, so I sent one of my own. Sent you one as well, Brethren.
I'm most excited about Stray, a game about a cat:

I'm having a great time with Demon's Souls. I only got about 10-20% through the PS3 version years ago before getting permanently distracted by something else, but I can tell that's not going to happen this time. The visuals are amazing on the new version, but I think the best part is the super smooth SSD loading, I'm never waiting more than 5 seconds for any given area to load. It makes this game in particular a huge joy, between dying often and just jumping back and forth between levels and the Nexus, it's so damn easy and instantaneous. This game is absolutely a system seller for the PS5, IMO.
