Today I'm cooking.
Minced chicken sauté'd in a wok with bean sprouts in a curry and honey sauce, with a side of fried minced onion and green beans, and rice.
If it turns out good, I'll post whatever I remember of the recipe. I'm pretty sure it'll be better than the abomination posted earlier anyway. ;)

It tastes just like Whooping Crane.
Last night: Appy - as above
Veggie stir fry. Rice. Marinated chicken (rice vinegar, soya sauce, chili paste, garlic...) stir fried separately, with almond butter and whole almond (also a dash of almond syrup - I like a bit of sweet in the meat dish).
Breakfast: The leftovers of the above (sans Crane), flash fried with a bit more veg to freshen it up.

Been experimenting with smoothies a bit. You can make some subtle alterations to them by adding some non-fruit ingredients. Using skim milk and replacing the fat from whole milk with yogurt can do a lot to bring the taste closer to what you'd get in a restaurant. Honey can do a bit, but obviously you want to keep the amount small (about 1 teaspoon/ cup).
Also, I've got some hash browns I need to use up before the move. Anyone got some interesting recipes or tips for cooking them?

In a large, smoking hot pan, combine (2 to 1) with frozen mixed vegetables, an egg or two, precooked bacon or ham bits or some other unhealthy breakfast meat (optional but not really), cheese or more cheese. Stir it around until well cooked and combined, adding ketchup for a traditional flavour, colour and consistency.
Serve with more ketchup, tea and Saturday cartoons.

Actually, sugar and vinegar are two ingredients laready used in making mayonnaise,so it shouldn't taste much different, other than a little bit sweeter - make that a shit load sweeter since mayo usually only calls for a teaspoon or so of sugar and she was using a whole fucking cup.

500 g of chicken breast
100 g of bean sprouts
300 g of green beans
1 diced potato (optional)
1/2 spring onion
3 spoons of honey
1 bowl of basmati rice
1/2 glass of water
Mince the chicken. Mince the spring onion. Mince the green beans. Put the honey in a cup and mix it with curry and pepper.
Coordinate cooking of the three elements so that you end all three around the same time, I would go in the following order:
First the rice:
No brainer, as it says on the box: boil water in a pot, with a spoonful of olive oil and some salt. When the water starts boiling, pour the rice in and let it cook 10-12 minutes.
Second the chicken:
Heat the wok with some olive oil. Put the chicken and the bean sprouts and stir them while it fries. Add the 1/2 glass of water to start the sauce. Add two spoons of minced onion. Let it cook for a few minutes, then add the honey/curry preparation and let everything cook for 7-10 minutes. Use a spatula to stir as necessary. Add herbs if you want.
Third the green beans:
In a pan, heat olive oil and start frying the rest of the minced onion. You can add some diced potatoes at that point or go directly with the green beans. Fry for 3-4 minutes. Again, stir as necessary.
When everything is ready, place it on a plate with the chicken and the beans on the side. Arrange all three as you prefer. Pour the leftover sauce from the wok over the chicken, or over everything, again as you prefer.
Serve.
