Agreed - Dead Space is not scary at all in my book. Creepy and gory, but not scary, sorry.
Doom 3 was really only scary in the "Boo!" moments, not much else.
Call of Cthulhu, all I want to say is the part when you are woken up in your hotel room and they are chopping down the door with an ax. Oh, and all that other stuff that makes you go insane. :)
Scary games are the ones where you actually run and hide from monsters, and you get that nervous twinge in your spine while playing. Examples for me:
SS2 (of course) and those punk haunts in Thief. Every time one of those spots me, I get that twinge.
