I agree, but who wants to scale them to Half-Life? Or will it be better to have them in Half Life 2? UURRGGHH I just don't know now. the sizing of the level that model would be a little big to test in what I have now, but i bet it would work, just need to dump about a million polys from it so half life doesnt either crash, or run (very) slow with more than it can handle, look at the characters! blocky, which is probably who everyone wants it ported to HL2, and I WILL port it when I get a PC that will run it without crashing.

Though wouldn't scaled down models still look better than the 2d sprites? I have Half Life with the upgraded graphics pack from Blue Shift, and the models look good on that.
I wish I was artistic, I would like the challenge of modelling the enemies, since not much work has been done in that area for SS1.

I would try for it myself, I just do not have that kind of time. I would do it at work if someone made a flash version of a model designing kit, or something, then again, id love to see a flash version of Excel.
I have no idea how to impliment the door, im calling on help at the dark-forge.com/forums people to maybe help me out, if I can get a door, maybe I can rework it to make the door slide. I just need to reclip some textures. I am also going to be working on the screen textures at work. I want to take the static and the b/w diego from the screens and layer them together, i cant find a free program that can do it, so I am just going to do it manually.
(I could go cheap, create 2 walls, one transparent, the other not, but that would be just lazy!!

i got the map to run with steam half-life all you have do do is put medical.bsp in the half-life\valve\ maps folder. You will also need to put medical.wad in the half-life\valve folder. Then you need to open the map by creating a custom multiplayer game with the map named "medical". I don't think you miss any thing this way but I am not sure. Play for a few sec on :thumb:

I will check that. Also, maybe it would be easier to make a batch file to open it automaticly. Also, I wondering how I am going to make it an actual custom game menu. I will just hack to keep experimenting in my free time.
I am working on some textures, and I have some ideas. Does anyone know of a freeware graphics program that can take 2 pictures and laer them together to make 1? Perferably some kind of small dont-have-to-install kind, but will settle. I was just hoping to do as much at work as I can, since I got in trouble for playing my PSP. (They dont care if I slack off on the computer, but PSP is a no-no) ...

No it just crashes with the provided batch file:erg:

I think with steam you needto run HL.exe through steam, like -app 210 or something similar to that step, then just use the paramaters to load the map. Did you experiment with the steam loadup and the commands? I will later and see if I can get it to work.
Also, I am using a custom halflife.wad file for my new update, so Ic an have animation, and custom switches, so if I release the texture mod in the next update, we might have to work around replacing the original halflife.wad file with something more convenient.

On a seperate note, I implimented the "doors" finally. Using the switch, it opens and closes the doors. Limitations:
1: The doors open, but they do not sync up perfectly. I really don't want to work on perfection too much, if you flip the switch at the perfect time, it will cause one side to change before the other, leaving the door half opened. Very ugly.
2: I can only seem to get it to open either by switch or walking up to it. Im working on having to "use" the door to open it. I still have no clue how im going to lock the doors till I get an access card. I might have to change plot to like, 2 years before the hacker attacked, and you have (almost) unlimited access to everywhere.
Im going to work on decals while I am at work, and finish up the first portion of the medical level, then once I do, I will release my next revision. That will be found on my web site hopefully by next week, depending on how my program is going to cooperate. Right now, its not liking my textures, and keeps screwing up, so im not able to allign them very easily.

Can't you study that from the default HalfLife levels? Like very early in the game you need to pick up the hazard suit to be able to go through the door on the other side of the main corridor.
