The only thing besides the elevators/power lifts not working that wasnt right though was the brightness level throughout the level. SS1 is ALOT darker than that, please make the level darker.
A couple of requests as well:
* SS1 style mouse crosshair rather than the Halflife 2 one.
* Looping music. The medical music stops once its done and then thats it, rather than the SS1 way of never ending looping music.
* SS1 style Menu screen. For authenticity sake a more SS1 style screen would be alot better.
Working elevators would be great too, as it stopped me from getting to the nodes area to see the Node models :(. How come you haven`t used the models already released by various people also? I had expected to see the few models that that guy released many months back in there.
1: I agree, the level is too bright. I wanted to see light effects, but placement, I will work on much later as a finishing touch when I roll the mod to version 0.90.
2: Until I figure out how to change the crosshairs, it will have to stay. The cross hairs are controlled through a font file, which I can change, but I can't get colors to work, and such yet. I can get a solid single colored crosshair, which I will work on later when I manage to get Steam working again.
3: The music doesn't loop? oops, might have been a glitch, I thought it was working. Again, a non-ready release.
4: Not a chance I will manage to change the menu. All I could do is add items and a background (widescreen image not added yet), did this version have the looping intro music as well? I thought it did.
5: In regards to the elevators (repulsion lift), I was working on the best way to use them. Looks like I can use a push function, I was working with VHE to make it work at least decently, but I failed in every attempt, and it wants to bring you back down. (Elevators should be easy for the next build, maybe, except texture switching to show on and off state.......)
6: I don't know how to use models. I even tried installing a demo copy of XLS (?) used by Valve, but I couldn't get past a demo liscence to use the program (evil), so models will be a later thing, unless I make it like HL1, which would be functions and polys.
So yeah, the release online was a backup of things to come. Sort of a teaser in parts of the direction the mod is going. I really, _really_ need some help now. I can get the level finished, but there is still so many things left to do, that I don't know how to do. I will keep trying though to make things as close to the original as I can, and I hope to at least finish off all the levels, make them all work with each other, and such like that.
