Well, like with all good things, looks like my retarded compile tools are reaching its limit. I was spazzing out on lighting (which looks effin awesome now) and now its not building the maps right anymore. What a shame. Looks like Im going to have to tinker with it when im done. It would be a shame to lose the awesome lighting as I have it now, switches, lifts, ive done quite a bit of work on it too .. oh well... all that work of the day scrapped. Looks like im back to the map itself, the physical construction .. sad, sad day ...

Nothing big, just tell me what you think. Here is the next H-S 1 release ...
(

For Half-Life 1 only, of course ^_^
Expect the HL2 version to follow, if I get around to that :)
Oh, the door sound is incomplete, ive been being lazy, I should have that complete by the next revision thou. BTW, my complaining about the compilers, I just use one of the original ones from Quake, seemed to work like a charm :)

Could you maybe post a screenshot for those who don't have HL1 installed and are too lazy to install it? :p

No need my good sir. I will play test this for you. With screenshots for all!
yes, yes. Thank me later. I will also review it. Cause im a badass like that.
( I also REALLY REALLY like mods.)
Bjossi on 15/4/2007 at 05:14
You talk like you expect a mod that is complete. ;)
Anyways, I'd appreciate some screenshots. :D

I would...however this seems to be just a bunch of maps....as in neither Vanilla Half-Life or Steam recognizes this thing as a mod. Theoretically it SHOULD work, maps, config file, etc. I don't see what is wrong....I guess I will just try to run the maps on their own, since he hasn't put in any custom models and such...very strange.... I will post my results in a bit...

*Edit*
Got the map itself working, but I'm having some really wierd texture errors....trying a different way.. will edit again

I hope you all are happy. You have no idea what I had to go through to be able to actually get the MAP to run. For some reason steam's loading screen messed up the map itself, I.E. it would create all these wavvy textures and such. So I re-installed vanilla half-life and typed "medical" in console. Anyway. It started working. I noticed several things in my walkthrough.
1. Good job, I love the new textures (well...old imported ones that is...)
2. Ah the memories. Good times. This is almost an EXACT replica (level layout that is.)....good job.
This is only medical section 1. It ended shortly before you go into the room with three turrets and a couple of mutants. So it was basically two corridors.
Without further ado!

That isnt everything, but I am tired. I will post the last half tommarrow.
Before I hit the sack I remember reading your comment about cyberspace taking EONS. Balony. Its just another section of the map with triggers and different textures. If you need help with it, look at what the Dystopia Mod team has done. They are a Half-Life 2 mod team, but their mod features a cyberspace that is about 6,000 times more complicated then this one, yet still uses the same concepts, its just a matter of getting around to it :D
( I dabbled in mapping for HL so I know what you are going through, and you have my sympathies, I was just pointing out it isnt TOO hard. :P just need to fix the grav settings, map files, textures and a few other things... like i said, check out the Dystopia mod and its fully functional cyberspace that seamlessly works with the real world.)
Well anyway...sleep! Enjoy the pictures, and good job! I love this!

I love the darker lighting and the look of the rooms is pretty much identical to the originals in SS1.
Kickass job Kodan!

Oh yeah, I should also make a version that works with Steam ... Stupid steam is hard to work with >_<'
I did get it to work once, but since I usually don't have the Source version of Half Life 1 installed, I didn't think to worry about it. I guess along with fixing my door sounds, I also need to make a mod build that Steam will recognise as well. That means looking at the current set of mods that Steam recognises and can properly utalize ..
The next release may take awhile while I do a bit of the needed work to make it work with the Steam client properly. (Last tijme I used a batch file to run it, but I lost it 3 formats ago...)
