it was one of the absolute first consoles
I've never heard it being called a console before! It's usually just called one of the first home computers.
Honestly, kids today ...

How many people used it for anything other than games?

I actually cheated and used wikipedia, but its okay if bjossi wants to insult my computer, I do all the time :p
Here is a level relevent update: The textures are not aligning like I had hoped. I don't want to do a lowsy job, but honestly these textures are everywhere, still. I remade them, but what more can I do? I will clip it the best I can, but some of them HAVE to be off, it is the only way to make the rest of them "look" like they are alligned. Im not overlooking detail, but if I nitpick, then I will never get the project done, im still on level 1 for crying out loud >_<
Here is the second question: Those high resolution type pictures, and I have asked this before, are their any more out like it? They look pretty good with HL1's 256-palet limitation. The SSRM project is killer, but the textures suck when you have to confirm them to HL1's format. Im going to use them on the HL2 version, so the softer ones will work best on the HL1. No disrespect to graphicing, you all rule ^_^

I loved my Amstrad. I used to code games; lottery number generators; make newpapers; and of course, play Thundercats! Until I destroyed the disk. *cry*

Here is another hi-resolution shot from SYSTEM SHOCK with a point of view close to your .../Half-shock/medical0000.png image from your above post.
This is a 1280x1024 screen-shot, if it will help you any...

Hmm... Kodan, if there's any I can give you, it would be not to concentrate on details too much. I know how it feels, trust me. I'm exactly like you, but in reality lightning covers 97% of all the little "flaws"...
In truth it's probably quite likely that most players will totally MISS all the little details... not to mention in the original SS2 lvls for eg. Rickenbacker is a total hoot if you go watch it in the editor and compare it to Von Brain.
I'm 100% positive that FM's like Return to Ponterbee are FULL of little details Christine put there but only a very small majority will notice them. Of course lots and lots of small details generate large noticeable detail if you know what I mean. Detail is the sum of it's parts or something like that... I don't even know what I'm talking about now... :tsktsk:
It kind sucks but it's all quantity vs. quality in a way. If you take too much stress to make it absolutely perfect, you'll burn out. End of story.
Just bake the general area... aling the textures so it looks even somewhat reasonable, clutter some details and light it up. I'm sure it goes as a fine looking lvl to 99% of the players. :thumb:
