The ghost near command control is open to interpretation.

I look at the ghost scene as a foreshadowing of what Goggles might have done on board the Von Braun.

My other idea is that its the creepy UNN guy that bothered Sanger and followed her around. She tried to email him from the Rickenbacker but he wouldn't return her mail. I think he may have come down from the Rickenbacker to look for her.

There is also a spiritual idea that the people who died on the Von Braun and killed by SHODAN and the Many were trying to tell Goggles messages. Maybe the spirit world was trying to warn Goggles or show him what life was like before the attacks.

The woman in the Bon Chance lounge is a reminder that the Von Braun at one time was a happy and nice place to be.

The ghost engineer down in the engineering tunnels shows how he died from radiation. That scene shows the suffering that people were having down in engineering and it brings it closer to reality for the player.

The ghost scene in the mess hall on ops shows that people were afraid of eachother they didn't know who to trust or who not to trust. Bronson and her security team was afraid for their lives so they did the only thing they could do and unfortunately that was kill everyone that they saw.

The woman who is crying in the crew quarters on the recreation deck is kneeling down looking at the floor. I think the woman witnessed what was happening and she didnt know what to do. I think she lost all hope of surviving the horror so she broke down and cried.

IMO the ghost scenes are the biggest impact of the game because they dont explain to you what happens it just shows a small moment of time in the past that you didn't see and you have to fill in the blanks. The ghost scenes are the greatest thing in SS2 IMO.

Because that apparition can be explained entirely with information that's explicitly presented to the player. There was a guy, he didn't want to get absorbed by the Many, so he killed himself. The end. Yeah, his uniform looks just like the player's uniform. So what? The ship is filled with people wearing the same uniform.

Alternate theories try to make this particular apparition somehow different from every other apparition in the game, which is obviously stupid and wrong.
