I know it's more than a month ago that Bowie went away, but this was released this weekend:

Thank you WingedKagouti. That was perfect. I could not have said it better. I look to the stars. Sometimes I want to go home.

So, after Bowie died - I decided it was a good time to review his works from start to finish. I recently finished that, but I seem to have locked myself into a bit of a situation where now I don't fancy listening to anything which isn't Bowie-related.
Not a bad artist to get locked into given the depth and breadth of the back catalogue.

Do you like Tin Machine? They played on Saturday Night Live. Baby Universal and When We Were Young. Great performances. Not available for viewing anymore. All the copies have been removed from You Tube and other sites. I have them on VHS tape, but there's some damage and the sound is now iffy. I bought the CD in hopes it would be similar to the SNL takes, but was slower and less verve. I also dig the TVC15 performance. THat one blew my mind when I came home from a party and there were these weirdo doing robot moves, with Bowie in a dress... Fun times.

Never actually listened to Tin Machine - from what I've read about them, I'm not in a hurry either. Never been one for straight up rocknroll.

Faetal, The two tunes I mentioned are worth a listen. They are VERY Bowie. I did eventually sell back my Tim Machine CD, since the studio stuff was pretty bland. There are some live performances of "Baby Universal" out there. The faster ones are close to the SNL version. You may like the songs. Give them a chance. For me, I like the action man. I'm happy, hope you're happy too. "I am the DJ" or whatever it is named made me want to buy a parachute suit.

OK, so a someone who always felt weirded out by other people gettting hysterical about celebrity deaths, I went and flew off the handle after Bowie died. Not in a bad way - I've just been listening to his music exclusively since January. It's not been a bad thing either. Anyway, I've listened to all albums in chronological order twice. For a while, I couldn't bear to listen to anything which wasn't Bowie - luckily that's passed now. Anyway, here's my current assessment of the albums:
1.Outside > Station to Station > Low > Lodger > Hunky Dory > Heroes > Scary Monsters > Ziggy Stardust > Blackstar > Diamond Dogs > Heathen > Aladdin Sane > The Man Who Sold the World > Young Americans > The Next Day > Earthling > Reality > Let' Dance > the rest...
