While this is naturally a very useful feature, ever since the move to Vbulletin the spoiler feature has not worked. Text with spoiler tags is still very readable. It seems that all that is wrong is the color; it seems to be slightly incorrect.

Looks okay to me. I can't read it unless I mouse-highlight... Perhaps you have BROKEN IT.
;)
Erm. I dunno. You're the first one I've heard say this...

Well, perhaps I did break it. I swear by all the gods you can think of that I read that without highlighting it.
Gingerbread Man on 31/10/2002 at 00:14
Oh, I'm sure you can. Wonder why that is?
It can't be anything to do with your defaults (I think) since the vB settings would override them as far as text colour etc go.
Sometimes very subtle differences in colour are exposed glaringly by higher colour-depth settings, but since I run at 32-bit colour and don't see even the smallest hint of spoiler text, I don't see that as the issue.
Oh, wait...
Hmm.
If I crank my brightness and contrast settings to maximum on the monitor, I can just make out the spoiled text. It's faint, but quite legible.
So I suppose if you have your brightness / contrast maxxed out, that might be it. But dear God how can you operate like that? Doesn't that burn your eyes?
('Course, cranking brightness and contrast is often the only way to make an old / dying screen work adequately...)

I have noticed that on my PC I have to highlight the blue spoiler line to read it, but on my laptop I can read right through the blue when I have the screen at certain angles.

When I originally created the spoiler codes for use on the forums the background and text color were identical, but then Daxim alerted me to the fact that users of Opera browsers were unable to view the text even by highlighting - they had to copy/paste the text somewhere else to read it. This was fixed by making the text the slightly different color as it is now.
Just so ya know ;)
I have altered the text color slightly... does that help? Let me know.
So you're saying that it was the pandering to hippies and their hippy-browsers that screwed the rest of us Citizens of the Empire up?
Gosh DARN those renegades.
I say we blow up Endor, that'll teach them.

Very light grey on yellow when highlighted. How it was before, a slightly darker grey on yellow when highlighted, I could read it without having to squint and stay one inch from the screen.
Oh and FWIW, I've always been able to read the text in the spoiler tags without highlighting it because of the subtle color difference, but that was because of my monitor's settings and because I was standing one inch from the monitor and squinting.
