I was told to go to the Telvanni Rep's to become Hortator for the House of Telvanni. I followed thier instructions to get the votes from thier Councilors --> Master Neloth, Mistress Therana, Mistress Dratha, Master Aryon, and Archmagister Gothren. I got all their votes with the exception of Archmagister Gothren. One of the Councilors said I would have a hard time getting his vote -- and he was right as I found it impossible -- so it would be easier to kill him, so I did. [My journal was not updated that I killed him.] I returned to the Telvanni Rep's to become Hortator but they just keep repeating the instructions to go get the votes from the Councilors. What's next or who do I see to become Hortator ?

see aryon, i believe. its the one who told you that you will need to kill the archmage.

yes... after you kill gothren, aryon becomes the new archmagister of HT, so you need to see master aryon.

Mission accomplished. I'll figure out these screwy conversions menu's about the time I'm done with the game.
I breezed through the other two House's and am now being prompted to become Naverine.
With the new patch installed, I have found, the AI are much more difficult to defeat and the soul trap spell has now been fixed. :)
[What I'm really thinking] -->........those bastards didn't say that was in the patch!....and just when I was about to start working on my enchantment skills....oh the pain....:(
