I'm not working at or for Arkane... I'm a full time college student, and still chugging away at CoSaS and various other personal projects, related to and unrelated to it.
I know things, but I can't talk about what I know. I feel comfortable letting you guys know, though, that you have little to worry about.

Thanks Digi. That's a relief after the muteness that we've had to face from Arkane's side. I've nothing against silence when you want finish a project, but at least a guarantee that something is being done is worth a lot.

Perhaps maybe you could give us a bit of an idea exactly when things will go from having little to worry about, to having nothing to worry about?

You'll have nothing to worry about after you finish the game and decide that you liked it ... :P

Aha!
Now then, pray tell, what game might that be?

5. Voice Acting - I don't know where you got those voice actors, but I hope you're getting most of the same ones for Arx 2. It is very hard to come by a game with believable and quality voice acting.
You're kidding, right? Not to offend the Arkanians, but, to be honest, apart from Steven Russell, Arx had the worst voice acting of the century. Am Shaegar sounded half-asleep and don't even get me started on the Captain of the Guard in Arx (his name eludes me at the moment). Oh. My. Gawd! Where. Did. You. Find. This?!?!

Hello, :) the other day I was wondering about Arx Fatalis 2 and I came across this Forum.
As I was reading, I saw there were people posting what they would like to see in Arx Fatalis 2, so I decided to post a few things as well.
But first I want to mention that I really like the game Arx Fatalis a lot. I played it many times and completed it. The graphics and music in it are really awesome. I would play the game with my headphones on and it was really spooky. Especially in the Crypts. I've had so much fun I think about playing the game again. I definitely look forward to playing Arx Fatalis 2 when it comes out.
Here are some of the things I would like to see in Arx Fatalis 2.
I read that Arx Fatalis 2 will be a prequel taking place in the past. I do not know how far into the past the timeline would be but I think it would be really cool to see characters included in Arx Fatalis 2 that are buried in the city of Arx's Crypts.
I would assume Am Shaegar would meet King Poxsellis while he was alive and he would probably meet Prince Luneshire with his future wife (Queen) while they were children.
When I was playing Arx Fatalis and in the Crypts I saw many character's names that I would like to see in Arx Fatalis 2. For example, I think it would be nice to see Achanta, the Vampire in Arx Fatalis 2 with her sword. There is another name I read on a tomb stone. He was a Giant Slayer. I don't remember his exact name but I remember that he was a Giant Hunter or Slayer. I think it would be cool to see him in Arx Fatalis 2 as well. Another character that would be cool to see would be Lord Inut with his bow and sword before he was turned into a Chicken.
Since there was a Warrior who fought Giants, I think it would be cool if there would be a race of Giants in Arx Fatalis 2. If there are Giants I think they should be larger than the Trolls and be cruel and barbaric.
I read that Am Shaegar will wander the wilderness in Arx Fatalis 2. Perhaps he can encounter Giants in the wilderness. I also think Am Shaegar should encounter more Dragons while in remote places of the wilderness as well.
While Am Shaegar is on his quests perhaps he can encounter small groups of people who worship Akbaa, the almighty God of Chaos before the evil Lord arrives and becomes powerful on Arx. I think that can be nice to add leading to Arx Fatalis' storyline.
There are many possible ideas to have in Arx Fatalis 2. I read many interesting and awesome ideas in this Forum.
I just wanted to post a few ideas for people to read and maybe they will be added into the game. Thank you. :) :thumb:

In my opinion, anyone who thinks that the voice acting in Arx was the worst of the century is either comparing it to the acting done in mainstream movies or obviously has limited experience with the voice acting from other videogames. Sure, Carlo's (yes, that's the captain of the guards in Arx) voice acting wasn't exactly Hollywood level, but his was about the only truly bad example I can recall from the game. Besides, I've heard a lot worse (Dracula and Richter from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night anyone?). As far as Am Shaegar goes, I thought his docile and cynical tone lent a little bit of comic relief to the serious nature of the game, but I suppose his voice acting could be interpreted as bad also. However, as far as I'm concerned, the rest of the voice acting was phenomenal for a videogame. The voices for the goblins were priceless, and the snake women had some of the creepiest voices I've ever heard. Heck, their voices alone were practically enough to make me want to slaughter them all. And don't tell me a chill didn't go down your spine the first time you heard a Liche utter his low maniacle laugh or curse you in a language you couldn't understand. No, as far as games go, Arx Fatalis's voice acting was most certainly NOT the worst of the century. In fact, I would rate it closer to the opposite end of the scale. In my opinion you need to either get your ears or your soundcard checked, Spitter :p
