Consider that Thief 2, System Shock 2 and Deus Ex - the games that these forums are known for - were all released after that.
Deus Ex was released in '99, wasn't it?
I know it came out after Homeworld, which was the first game I bought for my then screaming PIII 700 with a TNT2 Ultra card, but it was still released in the same year, I think.

(Not to mention Dark Messiah, Dark Souls, Vampire Bloodlines, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Gothic, etc.)

We've gone from OS wars to debating the relative release dates of games made >15 years ago. I think it's safe to say we're geeks.

You all, maybe. But not me.
I touched a boob once. It was a willing boob, too. None of that accidental feel-copping in a crowded room for me, oh no. I'm too cool for that.

Tits on a sling, people. Embarrassing.

We use Linux.
Sulphur on 15/9/2016 at 06:28
I used it, once. But I never could quite shake the feeling that it was, in fact, using me.
Then my brother blowfish'd the entire hard drive, so I formatted it and reinstalled Windows. I've never compiled a ZAngband tarball since, and I'm wiser and wearier for it.

If it makes you feel better, I've spent months at a stretch using nothing but Linux, and have compiled all of jack and crap.
...well, I did try to once. Didn't go well. Things caught on fire.

You have to admit though, the fire caused by Linux is far more glorious than any conflagration caused by a bad compile on a Windows system.
