That's great. And so true!

I'm slightly dubious that books will die out, e-readers have a long way to go before they crush physical volumes. Most people will have bookshelves in their house for a long time to come, and will probably end up with a split between the two.
I agree. The thing all the technofetishists who predict books dying out overnight when the stars align right don't get is that e-readers are not cheap enough to lose on the train, you don't want to loan the bloody thing to someone and not be able to read your books (the ideal situation with DRM precludes anything else, doesn't it? Damned if I know - I'm too poor to afford an e-reader and so... books!), and (this is a big one) actual books are not spontaneously disintegrating because e-readers exist. I have books that are 30 years old. There are books much older. Look after them and they last.
Tell you what's handy though: A netbook with copies of all the RPG manuals your group uses on it. Hilariously simple and useful.
Interestingly enough I know people who prefer audiobooks over anything with print. It's probably an avenue publishers should consider for everything, not just popular books. Though maybe they do. *shrug*

Surely you jest.

Damn, you caught me. They're actually all a few weeks old but were created to look like they were far older. It is part of the divine mystery of publishing. It is a test of our faith!
