If your only going to play one GTA then GTA San Andreas is the one to play.

Prey is at the top of my list. I need to play that game.
You really do; it’s incredibly good.
In my case I’ve been trying to get into the Witcher 3 for over a year, and I can never seem to. I think part of it is that I never played the first two, so the story doesn’t resonate, but I’m pretty sure that if I stuck it out, I’d get hooked. Someday.
I’ve also been intending to play Doom 2016 for a long time and have barely got more than an hour in even though I enjoyed it. Someday.

I constantly feel that I'm neglecting Hitman (2016). I think it's a brilliant game, and for me it's by far the best incarnation of the Hitman franchise. The locations and missions are great, the sly, deadpan sense of humour is brilliant, it offers a wide range of options with respect to how much you want your hand held (or whether you want it held at all), which strikes me as a great way of making the game approachable without sacrificing its complexity.
And yet, I cannot get myself to stick with it. When I play it, I enjoy it a lot, but I keep moving on to other games, even ones that I would very much consider inferior (though still fun). Perhaps Hitman is the Single Malt of games: I love a good Single Malt, but I only have a dram once a month or so.

Yeah I'm in the same place with Hitman. It's obviously a very good game, but it never really hooked me.
heywood, Portal is one of the best games ever made and only like 3-4 hours long. You can sit down and finish it in a weekend, or even an evening!

Prey is great. The start alone already makes it a classic, and it settles into great gameplay in our kind of tradition like a familiar & warm glove. I keep cutting off my play of it because other games keep jumping in, well Kingdom Come which is my game of the year. But that's more a testament of how good Prey is that I let it jump in and take Kingdom Come's place for a while before dutifully getting back to it. (Now I'm starting to fear KC finishing and losing that world. But at least I'll be turning to finish of Prey when I get there.)

my advice is dont finish Kingdom Come, you will be sorely disappointed, I just completed it and well the ending isnt great compared to what came before. Prey is amazing I bought it on sale not expecting to enjoy it that much but ended up playing it exclusively until the end, brilliant stuff.
Keep in mind i have almost 160 hours in KCD so pretty much done everything, and I still didnt want the game to end, its such an immersive livable world.

Your missing nothing from having not played EYE.
Missed this from a week ago. What's the beef with EYE? I've heard it's unconventional, but I figured that might be a good thing.

For me, E.Y.E. took the worst parts of early FPS games and smacked an uncompelling narrative and obtuse mechanics on top of the mess.

The only reason why I haven't started Prey is that I know that I'll probably spend 40 hours in it. I don't want to start it until I know I'll have enough free time to finish it within a month or so. I hate it when I start a really good game and then have to set it on the shelf for weeks because of other life priorities.
I don't have any excuse for Portal.

Seconding icemann and WK, E.Y.E. suuuuuuuucked. If there's one game mentioned in this thread that definitely noone should feel compelled to play, it's that one.
