Hehe, a post on page ~3 really hit a sore spot for me. I'm also SICK AND TIRED of FPSes that throw so much ammo at you that you can't even pick it up. Even worse are the stupid weapons that you never use but that you can't get rid of.
At least you can't ever "max out" your ammo in SS2 nor do you have to carry around useless weapons. You decide for yourself how balanced you want your weaponry to be.

Eh, good FPSs don't have any stupid weapons. For example, I've just played through Painkiller (finally!) and every single weapon is fun and useful.

Yep, Painkiller is a great game. Super awesome ambience, and just amazing weapons and gameplay.
My favorite level for atmosphere and nightmares that I had as a child relived, would be the Fun Park (expansion pack).
