Well, you've got a few dolomedes (Fen Raft Spider) in the UK as well - but you're right in that 7cm (w/legs) would be hardly considered "big" by anyone from down under.

Sadly our UK Orb Weavers are fairly diminutive, we don't have (

A spider in a hideous mess of a garage with inadequate lighting? Don't tell me! :weird: Clearly, the most apt action would be to squish it, burn it than doing what only those boring, tactless humans do - spare it.:thumb:
Funny, how people appreciate nature's creations in pictures etc but when they actually have to face them, they start panicking like a 4 year old and can think of nothing but violence. Wonder what happens to the famed human traits of intelligence & compassion.:erg:
Seriously, just shoo it away, and then do something about this garage. It's just a spider ffs. Surely, there must be other better avenues of comedic concept to explore than luk how the spider is burning lol :nono:
