The simple solution is to reach an agreement with the local amature entomologists. With any luck you will get a month of free paper delivery and only be out a pickle jar. I remember bringing a black widow to seventh grade science class and the teacher killed it. I had already named her Lucy. :(
I usually just herd them out the door but it's insanely hard to herd a spider. Just don't pick it up barehanded. Even nonpoisonous ones will bite the fool out of you. It's much easier to throw children at it until one lives long enough to take it away though.
