Hard to believe it was American (which I believe it was?).
 IMDB says that it was a UK production.

Yeah, it was a UK production, full of UK actors, and filmed in Wales. So yeah, UK all the way really.

So, what does the cynical and hate-filled gestalt entity that is CommChat...
Interesting way of looking at it; I wonder what Theodore Sturgeon would have thought of that. And while I admire the irony, I ain't bleshing with anyone in this community tonight, no sirree!
(And the thought of an entire community doing that is a profoundly disturbing image. :erm:)

I just watched the last episode.
zomg wtf etc.
So either he was saying something deep and meaningful about how he didn't want to be typecast, or how we were all Prisoners in some way or other, or how the only way to overcome demands placed on you by an indefatigable authority (The Village or his TV bosses, either), was to act in a surrealist manner.
Or he was off his head on some catholic-friendly drugs.
Also I don't understand the fan obsession with Rover. He only appeared in about half the episodes and only nabbed No. 6 about 3 times. It's not as if he even has animé hair.

I like it. I believe it's total surreal nonsense rather than having any hidden meanings, but it's enjoyable. Only in the 1960s clould soemthing like have been made. What a decade, I was there and did it all; took acid with Hendrix, contemplated and took beginners sitar with George and John, got drunk and discussed the Scottish nationilist agenda with Connery, shared a Mars Bar with Marianne Faithful and played cribbage with Patrick McGoohan
