Well I've almost finished the game (area 51, sector 4, pick an ending). I am still stumped over how the phrase 'deus ex' refers to the game. Can anyone shed some light on this? PM or email me if this is a major game spoiler. Thanks.

this is the spoiler forum.
quote from the cd-case:
main entry: de-us ex ma-chi-na
pronounciation: day-s eks ma-she-na
function: noun
etymology: new latin, a god from a machine, translation of greek theos ek mechanes
date of origin: 1697
1. a god introduced by means of a crane in ancient greek and roman drama to decide the final outcome.
2. a person or thing (as in fiction or drama) that appears or is introduced suddenly and unexpectedly and provides a solution to an apparently insoluble difficulty.

My mate reckons that since the developers put in so much time working on this phenomenal game that by the end of it they hadn't seen much of their girlfriends for ages and were due sex.:ebil:

Right... like you said it said on the box "etymology: new latin."
That's why I thought it was "day-oos."
