Looks like Steam crapped out on me again then, I'll probably have to reinstall.

I guess the books thing is good too.
Except they didn't fully fix the books things.
Bookshelves don't *get* broken when you interact with them anymore, which is great, except I still can't interact with the two shelves I broke during the last patch.

Yep, I can confirm that. Call it pessimism, but I suspected it would be like that since I first ran into the bug, actually.

Yeh books seem to be working for me though you get some wierd graphical reset of the bookshelf when you take or place a book. Luckily I didnt use any bookshelves after the 1.2 patch, so hopefully I wont have the problem Hanse is.

Hmm... the Core2 optimizations may have helped out the C2Q as well... game feels a bit smoother for me too.
Pretty sad that they still haven't done anything about numpad keybindings - at least I found a handy utility that directly edits the controlmap file.

I assume you've tried the basics already. (I.E., rebooting.)
Are you using the script extender? Have you made changes to the skyrim exe file before or after patching or anything?
Edit: Also, are you using any mods at all?

Make sure nothing Skyrim-related is set to run as administrator. This may cause the 'launcher loop'.
