I just had the most frustrating experience last night while trying to kill a dragon as a sub-quest. I fast-traveled to the place where I was supposed to find & kill it, but to my amazement, the dragon was circling high-up overhead and when it reached a point near the surrounding mountains, it stopped and flew backwards. It almost looked like the game was 're-setting' the darn thing. Its flight was jerky and it would sometimes freeze in midair and even though I hit it with multiple arrows, the hits never registered. It also seemed that whenever I got close to the dragon, it would be 'repelled' by my character and bounce backwards thru the sky to a different point. Dragonrend wasn't bringing it down to land and I got so frustrated from trying to chase the thing down overland that I gave it up for awhile and went on to another sub-quest that involved killing a couple of giants. When I came back to the place where I was supposed to kill the dragon, it was finally behaving in a more normal fashion & I was able to complete that quest.
I've had several instances where I've slain a dragon, but couldn't absorb its soul. The most recent was last night, after I'd slain the sub-quest dragon. I just figured these were respawned critters that I'd already killed before.
I've also had the game just quit and zap me back to desktop, for no apparent reason. It doesn't happen often but it's highly annoying when it does. No freezing up, no warning, just suddenly I'm staring at my desktop.
@mothra: I've never had a second indicator showing which item was selected in my menu. Not from the very beginning. I've had more than a few moments of frustration while trying to select a particular item because the menu won't highlight the item I'm trying to choose by scrolling with my mouse wheel or even clicking directly on the item with the cursor. It gets stuck on a previous item and I end up having to scroll up and down the menu a couple times before the correct item will highlight for selection.

So good ol' Beth are working on a patch for their latest patch due out sometime (
http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1300562-skyrim-what-were-working-on/) "next week". And the CS is pegged for a January release, I suspect pushed back to allow for integration with this Steam Workshop malarkey. Either way, I'm not impressed with all this.

Are you using the LAA launcher? I got tons of those until I started using it, since then I just got one I believe, in over a week. But I haven't gotten to play with 1.2 yet, if it's related to that I don't know.

By the way, is there an official place on the Bethesda forums to make bug reports? Their Skyrim forums are a bit of a joke, and I can't quite figure out where I should make bug reports that the devs will actually see.
I doubt they'd look into anything outside of their (
http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/180-pc/) official forums subsection.

Yeah, apparently the amazing blackward flying dragons is a known issue introduced with the patch. I hadn't hear that it also made them unkillable though. I haven't seen that particular bug yet, though I've only killed two dragons since the patch.
Thanks Ostriig, I saw that forum on the Beth forums, but wasn't sure if it was intended for bug reports as well.

dragons not dissolving and not giving any souls happened numerous times for me, pre and post-patch. seems to have to do with fast-travel. Some respawning dragons do give me souls though. it is weird. reloading sometimes helps.

I encountered an unkillable dragon in the unpatched game a few times, cirling above me then flying away, but I'm fairly certain this was intentional.

yep it is a special dragon. once you advanced a little in the main quest you will know what he is doing. but sometimes he is broken as well and does not do what he is supposed to :)

That's what I figured.

Just had another strange incident with dragons. I got another sub-quest from the Riften Jarl to go kill yet another dragon at one of the peaks that has a word wall (which I'd already cleared sometime ago). I fast-traveled there and to my surprise there were two dragons, both of which proceeded to attack me; one at a lower level of the peak and the sub-quest dragon which attacked at the very peak. While battling the sub-quest dragon, I kept hearing shouts and fighting sounds below, and when my dragon was finally dead I discovered that a small band of Imperial soldiers had killed the extra dragon on the ground below the peak on which I was fighting. Neither of the dragons gave up their soul to me, either. Though the dead dragon on the ground was lying atop a dragon grave, the dragon I killed wasn't Alduin and I didn't think any other dragon but Alduin could resurrect other dragons. With these two new dead dragons, it brings the total up to about six dragons that I've killed but that haven't given up their souls to me. And that's half the fun of it for me.
Oh well; it's more experience for my character, right? ;)

It seems that not applying patches has been a good thing (I'm at the version where that extra RAM thing still works), since I've had absolutely none issues with dragons thus far.

i haven´t installed any patch yet, since i´m playing offline, but is there a any way to reduce the mini-freezes?
