Now that we have the T:DS editor, is there any chance we're ever going to be able to convince anybody to hand us a version that would let us make FMs for DX:IW? if not, it would be a real shame. :(

It's not going to happen, since they never even worked on it, and now there's no company left, and no one (hyperbole) wanted it anyway, sorry :p

had anyone tried opening dxiw levels in T3ED?

the ion shader that comes with thief 3 editor says in it that it is the dues ex 2 shader.

The editors are unfortunately not cross compatible. While the core tech is shared between the two games, there was a lot of specific code written for each one's gamesys that makes the data pretty different.

Oh well who cares... it'd be just as fast to edit HL2 to play like we all wish DXIW played and make our own levels and story without having to mess around with editing DXIW and having a smaller audience in the end anyway. I'd be more inclined to make a DX "inspired" mod then I would to edit DXIW.
That said when Krypt (or was it Null? Yes it was Null.)...
When Null posted his "we're releasing the editor"-style post on these boards he said that ISA were already working on their next game... what was it? Does Eidos own all the rights to it and so you can't say? Surely you can give us some kind of cryptic clue. Who cares anyway? We're just a bunch of fans... if Eidos is going to make money off it we're not going to ruin their chances of makign money because we're not their audience... so tell us. Hehe.
Also, if any of you have any stories you'd like to regail us with of past plans or scenes that were cut from either IW or TDS then it'd be awesome to hear those two... that type of stuff is of no interest to anyone but me and a handful of people so it can't hurt.

It's understandable.
I also want to say that it is really great to have so many of you developers and ex-ISA people on these forums, hanging around with us crazy taffers! I feel that it is a priviledge. :thumb:

Null and Krypt and especially Alex D certainly deserve praise for their efforts on your behalf both pre- and post-ISA. Let us raise a toast to them!
I, on the other hand, am merely a bitter, malicious, downright nasty programmer ever eager for the chance to say something snide about a previous project. :sly:
