Hello there.
I am a new member on this site, and would like to ask if somebody knows whether an official Origin USA patch disk for The Stygian Abyss was ever released.
These jewels used to be and will forever remain by far the best titles I ever got a chance to play in my life, and would now like to have them both absolutely complete, including the additionally released items. However, so far there was no sign of that first game patch disk anywhere around - at least an american one, as I already have the original update released here in Europe by Electronics Arts.
Should someone know anything about it, please do let me know as well...

Sorry about that but had to change the all caps back to something a little more quiet.
As far as patches are concerned, we have the (
http://www.stygianabyss.com/uw/decomorono/index.htm) final patches for both games on our (
http://www.stygianabyss.com/) Stygian Abyss site. If your versions are final ones though then installing the patches will just corrupt your installed game.

No problem.
However, I don´t have in mind the patches as files themselves, but those originally released floppies by Origin as a follow-up to their games. Just as seen on picture below:

Indeed. Some items can be incredibly difficult to come upon these days, as they are very (but really very) rarely seen around. Not to mention you have to be lucky to find them in a decent enough condition. Here, an original european update for the first one as well, in case it´s of any interest to you:

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/8863/uwpatchab1.jpgAs for still sealed copies, there is one such Labyrinth of Worlds just being sold on eBay at the moment. I haven´t been able to find a Stygian Abyss which would still have an original factory seal either. But probably wouldn´t take it anyway, as I have them both in pristine condition already.
Don´t let that "SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL RELEASE" sticker fool you. The thing is these were a later released copies of the game and didn´t really include any extras, as that misleding sticker on front of the box suggests. This isn´t some kind of an extended version, but just about the same game it always used to be - might be it´s only patched.
And they didn´t mispell servent. They probably intended to say floppy is used for fixing several bugs, and not a particular one only...:)

(
http://www.ultimacollectors.info/uw1_pc_3.htm) Ultima Collector's Guide says it's because the runes and rune bag were not included.

Well, I went to check it out myself and there actually seems to be a bug called
servent strike. Had no idea about it before. Might be there were no others known at the time, and patch disk was released for fixing that one only...

So now, a peer 2 peer network went on strike in UW2 did it?
Blue, that is a misspelling on our site as well :o
