Well, sorry I came out that strong but it sounded like you are really one sided and biased.
I dont "dislike" the palestinians but Im disgusted when faced with religious fanaticism, doesnt matter which religion- Im equally disgusted by the American Christian Israel-lovers when I see them cry and say how much they love us as Im disgusted with antisemites and racists of any kind.
I acknowledge the Palestinian problem and palestinans suffering. I know that the solution for the Jewish problem created the Palestinian problem. And now the Palestinian problem is also an Israelian one. Does your friend even acknowledge there was a Jewish problem? Do you? Dont seem like it.
Sadly, though maybe it's understandable, most Palestinians only see their side of the story, their tragedy. They are fuled by Arabian political and religious leaders who tells them that the holocaust is just a fable and Zionism is an American conspiracy. (Yes, Ahmadinejad, Im talking about you)
As much as I would like the peace talks to go on, Im wondering what's the point- why would I want to marry a woman who is busy only with herslef and dont even see that Im a person too, a human being who has needs and problems of his own, just like her.

I understand that Jews have right for their state like any other nation, but when this state is created virtually over night on territory inhabitated by Palestinians for centuries, clash of this sort was inevitable.
If Jews and Palestinians historically shared the same territory, then of course it's their mutual problem. But I'm not willing to bet on which side gets brains first, as they both have proved to be quite stubborn. It won't be easy if every promising peacemaking leader coming from each camp gets killed by radicals from his own camp, because he's seen as 'weak' or 'traitor'.
I better didn't ask my ex-collegue about Jewish problem, knowing his temper during much more trivial everyday matters.

FYI the Jews never left. There was always a small but significant Jewish presence through the entire 2000+ years of exile. So Jews and Palestinians did historically share the same territory.
FYI there never was a Palestinian state. Not even a Palestinian entity. The Palestinian identity is a relatively new invention. (and by that I dont mean to discredit it- I think a group has a right to form a seperate identity- but you should consider that fact when you come to decide whose country is it really)
FYI it didnt happen overnight- it took a little less than a hundred years since T.Hertzel to 1948.
