I think we're all taking for granted that the 'wizardry' accusation comes from a biblical injunction to shun witchcraft and 'suffer not a witch to live.' What other group but Christians would even bother to complain about this?

It doesn't count unless he put on his robe and wizard hat.

I'm having a read through the Old Testament. What the hell are you smoking?

Anyone who hasn't received a proper education or some incentive to think for themselves, regardless of their religion. Surely it wouldn't be considered heretical to point out to the complainant(s) that it wasn't wizardry because nothing
actually disappeared?
edit: I made page 2 appear, which is more impressive than a toothpick

You aren't going to argue, reason, or tech them out of it; anymore than you'd be persuaded that red doesn't exist.
Red, as we perceive it, doesn't actually exist. It is just the result of the brain's processing of electromagnetic radiation of a certain wavelength.

And therefore exists.
All of reality as we know it is just the result of stimulus-nervous system synthesis. Either it all exists, or none of it does.

Methinks SOME PEOPLE in this thread jumped to conclusions. No idea what the grade was... as in age of the kids.
What I'm thinking went on is that there was a particularly stupid kid who had never seen a magic show before and was bothered by it. He told his mom, mom was a religious nut of possibly any given stripe (or was just insane and didn't want little Timmy to be bothered by the mean teacher) who complained, and the school was looking for an excuse to fire the teacher. So they did.
Seriously: did the guy have any business doing magic tricks for kids as opposed to teaching? I think not. Considering that according to the above the wizardry accusation wasn't mentioned in the pink slip, if anything the school officials SHOULD BE COMMENDED.
