Congratulations to Canada for topping both medal tally boards!
Apparently some knob was awarding Lead(last), Tin(second-to-last) and Zinc(third-to-last) medals. Canada and Italy won 6 Lead medals each, more than any other country.

Sochi has been Russia's main resort town for over a century, it's not just a random dot on the map (even Stalin spent his holidays there). And Salt Lake City (2002) is easily a few degrees farther south.

The men's game was incredible. I have to say, the American coach was a brilliant strategist to pull his goalie in the last 20 seconds of play to make a desperate grab for the Canadian net.
Don't want to be a prick, but playing with an empty net is a pretty standard strategy in the closing stages of an ice hockey match, no?

Yes, but usually it only nets you an extra losing goal.
