Is it just me or has Olympics coverage in the US been decidedly... nonexistent?

Why the complaining an event like the Olympics is a godsend, it pays back in spades with viewing rights and the input in local economy. Canada and Vancouver in particular should be happy to host it, the whole world is bringing them money.

Really a popular myth, I'm afraid. They said the same thing about bringing the Olympics to here in Atlanta and the city's net balance on the event was red when all was said and done.

Wait, there are The Olympics happening? Hmmm, no wonder my coworkers have been yakking about some competition or the other daily. I assumed they kept going on about the local bowling league.

I still think that they should have an Olympic Snowball Fight competition.

ended really nicely recently in the US, some crazed cop took offense at being hit with a snowball and pulled a gin.

But really, nothing warms you up after an intense snowball fight like a couple fingers of Beefeater.

Doubt the local economy had much to complain about. Tickets can't cover the costs the city makes, but all these people have to eat and sleep and party somewhere, it's a major financial injection. Also don't forget the viewing rights, all that money flows right back and some more.
