Perhaps it's a limitation of the streaming system? All I can say for certain is that when I fed SS2 a 44KHz file, it didn't sound right when it played it back. Almost like it was playing at double speed.

There goes my excellent fan made soundtrack... how much time i spent creatively putting all those 22050Hz pieces together to make unique music compositions...! :(
Huzzah for the original music! :D
And yes, some of you peeps are just spoiled audio snobs moaning about 320kbps, I'd take the original music with all my ten and be grateful to heavens even if it was 128kbps rip.
I bet at least half of you couldn't tell the diffence between 320kbps album and factory made CD if you heard it on average soundsystem.

Just because I don't get what people talk about don't mean I wouldn't state my opinion! :D

Exactly, I wanted to spit out something like that for a long time.
Cheers! :D

You don't happen to have a X-Fi and headphones do you? The lack of quality in 128k playback is pretty damn obvious with that listening gear. And I mean audible enough to be a major annoyance.

You are failing to understand the discussion.

Woo! Thanks MysteryDev :)

I guess I must be tone deaf, because I can't even hear the difference between 128K MP3 and CD audio in most cases, let alone 320K...
Bjossi on 25/4/2007 at 16:13
Then something is wrong with either your audio hardware or your ears. :erm:
Speaker systems tend to hide the flaws of low bitrates nicely, but the same can't be said about good headphones. I can hear the difference between 256k and 320k.
I do have an unusually good hearing though, my friend often asks me to confirm audio artifacts. :p
