- Today 15 years ago the boy-band Take That broke up. Male teenagers will have this day in fond memory.

- Apple admitted having (http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20010948-260.html) used IPhones to detect WLANs and send the data to their central server for the last 2 years without informing their customers but giving back localised ads at least. Of course they make nice and shiny things, so that's forgiveable, unlike scary GOOGLE (who did the same but used their own equipment).

- (http://wikileaks.org/) Wikileaks comes back including an (http://blog.wikileaks.org/) official blog. Learned something out of the last weeks apparently.

- And just a few minutes ago Google introduced a new gallery interface for their (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&biw=1126&bih=521&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=take+that&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=) Image Search

Except that the new GIS interface broke my Greasemonkey script which used to send me straight to the actual image.

Err... so is (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/7902688/Google-launches-new-image-search.html) this what you're talking about Kolya? Google Image Search looks the exact same way it's looked for the last few years, for me. But the article does say it'll be introduced worldwide over the next few days so I guess it hasn't come to Finland yet. :p

Yeah, looks like in the article here. The first impression is good, but the page you're transferred to when you click on an image is trying to show you the image and the original site at the same time which doesn't work so well in my opinion. Ah well, I'll just wait for an updated script.

New GIS is, as usual, more trouble than it's worth. You still need to click twice for full size image, and while there' more images on page, the dimensions/size info is gone until you hover which seems to have a slight lag.

[Edit] Major oil spill in China, (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/jul/20/china-fishing-boats-oil-slick) government rubs it in USA's face by making the cleanup as huge as possible. Feels good man?
