Sideways? Sideways? What is this "sideways" concept you mention?
My arguments are restricted to movement on a narrow 1D beam. They don't understand these heretical 2D concepts.

Yeah, it's got zombies, so everyone complaining about Garrett's ridiculously large backpack or zero width dimensions has no base for his arguments anyway. Wizards did it all.
This is referred to as suspension of disbelief. A basic and accepted concept in video gaming. Looking Glass was one of the truly few teams who were able to craft crpgs that maintained a masterful suspension of disbelief throughout, and not only that, by the end of the game you were left wanting more! This is what makes Thief: The Dark Project the classic that it is. Other games that have achieved similar depths of gameplay ideals are obviously the Ultima series, System Shock, as well as a few other obscure crpgs. I am not including any other classic games that are not associated with Looking Glass and its legacy...

I was curious. Are there actually any people in this forum that are not huge fans of the original games? I would guess that everyone here is a fan otherwise why are they here? AreAre there people that have never played TDP/TMA?
Otherwies I think this thread is preaching to the cho4r.
But I too would like to hear a non-thief fan's reaction to this new game. Do they think it is different or similar to other games out there?

I can think of plenty of games that have drawn me and suspended disbelief as well as Thief, System Shock, etc. etc. Some of which that have come out fairly recently.
You know what your problem is, Goldmoon? You're closed minded, and refuse to believe anything made after the halycon days of your childhood are worth half a crap.

C'mon, tt's easier to just sit on your computer from 2000 and say everything after that sucks than it is to invest in some new hardware and take a chance that you might find some great games interspersed between all the mainstream, AAA fodder.

You know what your problem is? The fact that you need to tell someone else what you think their problem is.

but hey, let's hope these n** fans don't disrupt our tight-knit community ...

It's your flat out refusal to accept anything that isn't M&M, Ultima, or LGS inspired as good that irks me to no end. It's like you don't like anything new not because it's bad, but because you think it is.
Seriously. Live a little. Get some recommendations up in Gen Gaming and stretch out your wings.
And no, watching Let's Plays on Youtube does not count.

Novice, where are we?
