I know there is a million of these and this has probably been said before, but the worst part of THIAF?
The fans.
Not us, this band of dirty rotten taffers, you guys are ok. We've seen a lot. I mean new fans. People who don't know what thief is, or WAS before picking up THIAF. I'm sure it will be a good game, outside of thief canon, that is, with some good sales, but how many new thief fans will there be that don't know where all this came from? Its like when anonymous became popular, or the slenderman mythos after the eight pages.
This always happens to something that gets big, especially after a new generation. I guess we just have to bear ourselves and do our best to educate the new masses on the old ways. Keep it going some how I guess.
Maybe we can be thief hipsters and say we liked it before it was cool get me a f*****g DRINK.

anonymous was always f*****g retarded.
rude, but, y'know. true. Internet guys wearing english terrorist masks was never anything more than the equivalent of patrick bateman pointing at himself in the mirror.
I guess I'm saying appoint ye not yourself guardian of the truth, for it doth not f*****g exist.

Unfortunately it's those new fans (people like the ones on the T4 FB page, praising everything that gets posted on there) who will probably buy it in droves and make it a success, and then SE will know it can take a dump all over a franchise and people will still buy it.

Ever feel like crying and don't know why? This is why.
Sorry viv, but you're kind of off topic. Though I agree. Azran, let me buy you a round.

I'd comment on this but your thread title marks you as an unimaginative ineptite, and that rather robs ones desire to participate.
I like the title Thia4f: Give me your money sucka

You're worried of new fans already? Really? I would rather worry about the game itself than this. I don't care if this game will be understood by new fans or if they already know Thief mythology. I don't think so called "new fans" should be a priority in this project, either.

You aren't too smart, giving your opinions on a game which you didn't played and on a people who see a promising title in Thief 2014. I personally prefer those who "praising everything" than those who are bitching about everything like you.

We had new fans coming in when TDS came out, so it's not a new thing & it works itself out. Some came with a blast of energy with a lot of fanfics and fanart and stuff with just the Garrett of TDS, which were amusing in their own way. They recognized they were new to the scene but wanted to show they were fans anyway, and many of them went back to play the previous games. Some didn't stay around that long, since once the TDS energy passed they passed with it... Then others got into the FMs and previous games, like our dear Dia, and did stick around longer.

For the record, I'd already played TDP & TMA to death by the time I joined TTLG. Therefore I felt I had the right to be Righteously Outraged over the whole TDS fiasco. I'd been sporadically posting under my husband's nick for a couple years before I finally bit the bullet & started my own account. But yeah, FMs rocked my world and continue to do so. Besides, I love this place and most everybody here. Great, now you made me go all mushy & maudlin, dema. :P
I rather doubt we'll see very many of the NuFans sticking around too long after NuThief is released. Especially if they're the type of gamers for whom EM seems to be creating the game; namely, those with the attention spans of gnats who like to press a button and watch the game play itself, then blast through the actual playable parts. You know; the type of gamer that does a playthru in record time (because that's oh-so-kewl ya know) then asks 'Who's that?' when you mention the name of the main character of said game. Those are the very gamers who won't have the desire (or patience, etc.) to try the classics, for obvious reasons. ;)
I foresee the proverbial sh*t hitting the fan the first time a NuFan posts a thread with a title like '1000 Reasons You LOVED Thi4f'. Should be interesting ... to say the least.

You know, you are the
only fan they've ever listened to, Dia.
