As I recall, to change the renderer in TNM you need to open the ini file and do it manually. Because of the way Deus Ex is set up changing the renderer any other way will result in ordinary Deus Ex's renderer being changed and leave TNM's renderer unchanged.
That said, unless you deselect the option when it installing TNM, I think it sets the Enhanced OpenGL as your renderer by default. Though I am not totally sure and it has been quite a while since I installed it.
