This really looks beautiful, I'm terrifically exicited. Also loving the new trailer and that other trailer with the two citizens conversing.

i don't know if it's only the trailer's voice over, but this feels alarmingly generic.
Manwe on 11/3/2009 at 07:21
Alarmingly generic right... Because there are so many games out there with such crazy (
http://thenamelessmod.com/about/) features as this one. I forgot there were so many complex games like deus ex out there, with good voice acting and actual humour... I must have missed them somehow, you'll have to give me their names so I can check them out.

Hehe, that's the first time anyone's accused us of being generic :cheeky: Usually people are up in arms about how wacky the concept is.

uh oh, there goes a hornet's nest.
I was (obviously, no?) referring to that short trailer's feel. Sure I will check out a hailed mod for one of the bestest games ever.

I know you were referring to the trailer. I'm not upset about, it's just funny because nobody, anywhere, ever, has called anything about TNM 'generic'. I can see where you're coming from on the trailer, as it WAS designed to have mass appeal :)

Another way to say it is that it was deliberately designed to be a stereotypical and clichéd Hollywood action film trailer. Hence the cheesy voice-over, explosions, selective slow-motion, line bearing uncanny resemblance to Kill Bill (though it does appear in context in the actual game), and complete lack of first-person footage (took bloody ages to set up all those fights with a Trestkon stand-in, btw :p).
So if you think it's generic, that's fine - as long as you mean it looks like every Hollywood action film trailer ever created. That was the point :)
snauty on 12/3/2009 at 10:55
Then you really nailed it. :D
So I'm looking forward to play it too.

Sorry if I was a bit rude then, I thought you were talking about the mod. I just think it would be a shame if people dismissed it as just another half-assed mod made by amateurs, when clearly these guys seem really talented and have put a lot of work and time into it.
