you can edit the cfg.ini file and set Multiplayer = 1 makes my system hang ! ;)

Damn .. that must be your system. I had a blast playing on the dedicated multiplayer server yesterday, and some guy said he had a friend who had the same problem.
Try setting antialiasing off or something. Once you get in there and you have literaly 50 players running around and sitting in the inn you won't be able to stop playing.
