I just learned that Garrett can avoid the majority of attacks from a certain group of AIs who swing hammers/broadswords so high up that he can CROUCH and push his way through a room full of them. :wot:
These AI characters do have an overhead swing tht is damaging to Garrett but they only use it intermittently. I thought this important enough to pull out of the other thread and publicize it individually. To my thinking, this is a big gameplay problem. Im not pointing fingers anymore cause Ive come to learn that TDS's makers were under heavy pressures when creating the game, all props due, but for me it detracts from the gaming experience. So I propose two solutions that I have already discussed briefly elsewhere.
1. Some how increase the frequency of that overhead attack. With the right blend of wild horizontal swings and crushing overhead swings, the visual impact will be of a fanatical hammer wielding loony who swings crazy on occasion, such is his lust to splatter Garretts brains. I think that would be a fix and a bonus, frankly, kinda a semi-berserker Hammerite who looks even berserk-ier.
2. This ones a little more involved. Nobody and I have talked a little about this, take a guard AI, remove the sword mesh and give him a single handed battle hammer mesh. These are much smaller than the mallets the Hammerites currently use. Now reskin the guard to look like a hammer, maybe just a change of clothes, and you have a light assault Hammerite. Give him a shield too, what the hay. I realize this project would be involved, but it would be cool I think.
