I have been here for a long time. I am 20 now so in 2000 I didn't realize little silly names would stick with me. My friend and I wanted matching names for TFC (Half-Life mod) and we came up with SpineRemover and HipBreaker. I took that with me here and now I am known by it. I am still amazed my first Thief fan mission actually functioned (sort of). Anyway, now I usually go by Xeon when making an alias for something, or just Jeremy. But alas, I am HipBreaker, maker of a couple fan missions and loved by my lady. I actually met someone in an Eb games one time talking about Thief, and it turns out he played fan missions and he played mine. He said he remembered my mission because of my name, and he usually doesn't look at author's names. So, it is here to stay, as am I, as HipBreaker.

There's no meaning behind my name, I was thinking of renegade, wait didn't we do this before?

Didn't I do this before?
Long story short: in fifth grade, friend comes over and plays Diablo and creates an account with this name. He says I can play it online, and I do. For some reason I end up using the name in other online games from there and then from there to the interweb and bam, here I am. I feel awful about it because I've never stolen anything else in my life and I feel awful for taking the name, but it's too late, I'm known by it, and unlike some people I refuse to make a new username; I refuse to shed my past, it seems like cheating or something. I am who I am and my past is what it is; even if I'm not proud of it I will not run away from it.
So that's the second most embarassing story about this name. The first is that the kid was obsessed with Lord of the Rings at this point, so it's just an alternate version of Arathorn (father of Aragorn). I found this slightly annoying until the LOTR craze hit - now I find out downright embarassing and get really pissed off when anyone makes the connection.

Kroakie on 14/9/2006 at 09:39
simplify(Krogoth + AK) = simplify(Kroakgoth) = Kroakie
As you can see, I'm a huge TA fan. I actually started out online as KroAKgoth way back in, I think 1998. Before long, I realized how tacky that is and so I simplified it to Kroakie. Stuck with it ever since.
