Wile going threw the main quest the first time I played, I found that if I off the guy I get a funky mesage about breaking the chain, even thow it don't really effect ennything.
This time threw I found that if you pick the key and note of the dead body in the tome, while doing the "Kill the Vampire Quest", which is part of the forth triel, you don't get the message.
It seems like the vampires are running some kind of smugling operation and there has ben a doublecross of some kind.
There is no jurnal update when you pick up the note & key but it dose something, becouse you can then kill the Maggot King without getting the breaking the chain message.
Now if I can figure out how to off Crazy Batue, without the message popping up:ebil:

You can off Crazy Batou anyway, message or no message. The current thinking is that he was going to be important in the main quest, then the devs changed their minds, but forgot to remove the thread of prophecy broken message.
I presume the Maggot King is a vamp quest? I haven't come across it. I intend to become a vamp with a different character.

Eh... I think he's a necromancer. Regardless, IIRC the patch removes the 'destiny is screwed' message on the Maggot King & Batou. (I could be wrong, though)

I killed Crazy Batou today and I got the message. I have all the patches and stuff.
Glad I know this though cause I never did find out what his heml does.

I'm just trying to find a conection like the one I found with the Maggot King.
Kind of like finding the hidden quests.
