Besides the fact that Jacob threw him into the heart of the island and turned him into the monster? All he wanted was to leave the island, and he couldn't. He was tossed into the light in 43 A.D. 1965 years is a long time to be stuck somewhere and develop a grudge.

Yeah, didn't much care for that ending. I might have bought it a little more had they planned to go that route at the beginning, because a lot of the !plot twists! would have been altered in the spirit of such an ending, but the show was not written with that spirit. It comes across as forced.
On the other hand, they did a fantastic job with making all the characters recognize each other and gradually allow the rightness of everything dawn on them. There was a lot of emotional satisfaction to be had in watching things come together for all these characters we've seen over the years.
Not too much satisfaction for the brain, though.
Also, dead women can give birth to children in seven minutes. Neat.

Jack wasn't my favorite character, but in this season, especially the finale, he was great. Old characters like Boon, Libby, Charlie, Michael were great to see. Speaking of which, I guess not everybody made it to letting it go.
He's in purgatory screaming "WAAAAAAAAAAAALT!!!"
I pretty much agree with everything you said. The final scenes with Jack (and everyone else) were very awesome and I think I prefer that they didn't explain what the light exactly is to avoid Midiclorian Syndrome.

I gave up one episode into season 2, so I really have no idea what's going on. But it sounds like they went for the ending to Next Generation only with more god? (possibly not wanting to be outdone by Battlestar)

Having watched several collegehumor videos (particularily (
http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1936291) this one)about Lost made me see how much of a buzzkill the ending was for many and even somewhere a bit to me too. But similar to Avalon I just forgot or lost interest in many of the unanswered questions, most of which were small anyway.
Also, for those who are curious about the light itself - would a science fiction BS text satisfy you? Wouldn't change much to me. I changed my mind about the purgatory/afterlife though. It just doesn't make sense and it made me sad. Simple dying is happiner.
Also, I disagree with Jack's "inability" to do emotional scenes. If you didn't like them - maybe you simply didn't believe, that some people would react differently then the classic way. I didn't see much wrong with the acting. Besdies, his final showdown was great.

Count me in as one who went with it. I wasn't expecting it to be so emotional (Jin and Sun's awakening, Kate delivering Claire's baby again), very well done.
I do have one minor complaint, and it is this:
Where was Michael? No reason he shouldn't have been in the church or in the alt timeline for that matter. Or Mr. Ecko?

Mr. Ecko man was offered a guest spot in the finale, but he refused asking for 5x more cash for the job. You can see the results.
Michael is in limbo at the island and generally unprepared to move on. Walt is just the biggest mistake the showmakers did so they try to pass by.

I don't understand why so many people feel that way. Walt is the only one to escape the Island, completely, and unscathed. I feel like that concludes his story wonderfully.
That said, I do recall hearing from Damon and Carlton that they were going to include something more about him, but obviously it wasn't in the finale. The DVD Release of Season 6 is supposed to have an extra
30 minutes added to the finale, so you may get to see more about him afterall.

Lol, Walt was in no way a mistake. If anything, he added more intrigue to the whole thing. Tho explaining why Walt said Locke has more work to do wouldn't hurt, but that's about it. Everything else makes perfect sense, unless I forgot another illusion he participated in.
