You're not serious are you? It's crap from the get go. Using polar bears to test a time machine? "Hey guys, lets get the biggest land predator to test our machine. It'll be safe. Don't worry."
pfffft

I am serious!
It makes so much sense - did you actually read it???

I think Claire has to be dead. The dead people are the only ones who show up in the Losties dreams and visions (see Christian, Boone, Ana Lucia, Charlie, etc.)
Walt's not dead.

I don't need to fonz. When you have to explain the polar bears with a ridiculous conjecture like that you've already messed up.
Dharma sent people back in time to see if they could alter the timeline? Err. What? Even if they did no one would know.
Gah. That whole site is nonsense.
I don't claim my idea is any better. In fact I just thought of the most batshit crazy thing I could but just about anything can fit. Except the theory on that site. It's the worst theory ever.
"She appears half-dead to him because her dead spirit is designed to “help Ben understand his destiny” so that he can carry on her legacy."
Are you drunk? The author of this pap almost certainly is now, and forever more.

Completely agree. The whole theory is so arbitrary, with no real foundation from anything we've learned on the show. I love the Q&A part, I think the guy could convince himself that Locke has hair and Mr. Eko is chinese.
At least come up with a theory that can be backed up with some type of facts we've learned from the actual episodes, this guy just made everything up from scratch.
d'Spair on 4/6/2008 at 22:16
Although some of the statements on this site are a little bit strange, as it has already been said, i believe that the overall idea might very well be correct. Thanks for the link, thefonz, it was a nice reading.
However, i still believe that the numbers play a much greater role in the show than the author of the theory thinks.
SubJeff on 4/6/2008 at 22:31
Heck, those numbers could be the mystical numbers that open the gates to heaven but that site is just a crock. Sure, there will be some things that turn out right but errr we already know there is an element of time and space travel and electomagnetic business and a monster and blah blah.
It's not just the way he says things, it's what is said. I reckon he was one of those guys that asked "Why were they always answering phones in the Matrix?" and "Why did Bruce Willis commit suicide at the end of the 6th Sense?".
My point?
When you haven't got a clue you can make up anything. To everyone else who hasn't got a clue it can make sense. Lost is deliberately leading us up the garden path the whole time with its layer on layer of plot and history and so on. Anything is possible. Except the crud on that site.
d'Spair on 4/6/2008 at 22:51
I actually liked that theory despite its flaws because it somehow corresponds with my own observations. I mean, i really believe there's a kind of time synchronization issues going on, and this theory may very well answer a number of questions of a 'how one could appear here at this point in time' kind. And the whole concept of a fate somehow correcting the events in the past in order to preserve the future appears to make sense.
Anyway i think it's a pretty interesting reading no matter if it's seriously flawed or not. At least it's thought provoking.
SubJeff on 5/6/2008 at 00:12
But this is just it. What do you mean you "believe" there are some time synchronisation issues?
There ARE time synchronisation issues!!!
It's there - in your face. Repeatedly. There is a ton of time stuff. Some people are clearly traveling through time or not aging. This is what I dislike about theories like that - they are half baked and try to present what we already know as some great revelation.
Hey guess what - I reckon Sawyer isn't his real name. omg omg omg revalashionz'd. Bah.
The Island clearly has some time and space distortion field (or whatever) around it. The initial EMP pulse seems to have temporarily neutralised it thus allowing people in our time and space to crash onto it.

Locke is still one of the 6 Dia. Desmond is not.
No; Locke wasn't one of the 6.
Jack
Kate
Aaron
Sun
Hurley
Sayid
... Desmond and the 'copter pilot don't count.

Come on guys, those 2 are hanging out with Jacob now. They have seen behind the curtain. Of course they are going to act different.
I thnk you have a point that if Claire's seen 'behind the curtain' then she could just have gone over to the weird side; afterall, that's pretty much what happened to Locke after he met Jacob & all. Even though we know Jack's dad is certainly dead, it doesn't necessarily mean that Claire is.
She also seemed to have suddenly lost her Aussie accent when she gave her warning to Kate in Aaron's bedroom. I'm not lending any supernatural-type-ohGod-that-must-mean-something stuff to that; just sayin' is all.
