I was devastated when my dog died in November 2001. I'd grown up with her and she was like a little sister. Someone suggested a couple days later that I "get over it" because 3000 people died in 9/11. That's a good way to get punched and I don't regret giving it.

Wow, that is quite possibly one of the most asinine comments I have ever heard (read). Who was this person?
And Martin: Sorry about your kitty:(

Some dipshit who rode the bus with me to school. He'd said it to me in the morning while we were waiting for the bus to arrive and I let him stand there all smug for a few seconds before I suckerpunched him.
Nobody liked him anyway.

Saaaay...anyone know if crossing the border from Mexico to Canada with pets do they make a fuss out of it?, there's a good chance I maaaay go to Canada next year to study my Masters (God knows in what...), and I would not want to have to give away my 2 pretty kitties.
Obviously, check with the appropriate authorities to be certain, but I guess as long as all vaccinations and ID are ok there should be no problem. My sis brought her two cats back to France without a hitch (except for some airline company assholes who almost refused boarding in spite of the paperwork, but that's another story).

Sorry to hear about your cat Peeper but I guess he's getting better now which is what matters.
Pets are just as vulnerable to injury and disease as humans.
