Now my cat is ill too. She's always been a lazy cat, but since the last two days she has barely moved, not eaten nor drunk. I went to the doc with her today and they found she has quite low temperature: 36.9°C (38°C being normal for cats). It looks like she's got a case of poisoning, possibly from a detergent that had leaked in the bath unnoticed. Might have walked through it and then licked it off her paws trying to clean herself.

Oh no:(
Best wishes to your cat!

New day, same old shit. Cat doing better, white cell count still elevated, producing less icky fluid than yesterday. He tried to get out of the cage a couple of times to explore today, so he's feeling like his normal self. They're sending out a search party for my sock.
Koyla, what sort of treatment are they giving her?

Which fact did you just notice?
Statistically, my money's on b.
If you ever saw this guy, you'd notice him too. Looks like the German assassin from some Bond movie. You know, the guy with the straw-blond hair and sleepy looking eyes that are too far apart and a mouth that's too wide, who dresses all in black and wears black leather gloves while he's garotting you with a lamp cord.

If you are think of "From Russia With Love" then the actor was (

P.S. I'm glad your cat is getting better. I lost both of mine this year. One passed away, one put to sleep.
P.P.S. Is your pussy enjoying being stroked by everyone? :o

Fortunately my cat's already doing a lot better. Means she's back to being the same lovable annoying big-eyed gabbling furry cuddle thing she's been the last 7 years. They gave her an infusion ("G5") and two injections ("Be-Iom, Furosemid"). No idea really, but apparently it helped.
Glad your cat is doing better too. :)

I'm glad the kitties are doing better! :) I've got a sandy colored fur ball on my lap that absolutely adores people, he's such a pest. Love him dearly.

...five years of bills.
Apparently there's a cranky side to my big gray pal that I never get to see. The doc tells me that he tried to bite people a couple of times today, but only when they were sticking him with needles or shoving thermometers in unnatural places. Can't say that I blame him. He also pulled out his chest tube this morning, but they were planning on doing that anyway, so it's all good.
They took another X-ray (ka-ching!), and it's a "really good news/sort of bad news" situation. Bad news is that the right lung may never function again, since it's not reinflating. Good news is that his left lung is in perfect shape, and they expect to send him home tomorrow anyway. Then I get to stuff antibiotics down his throat for a couple of months, like Vincent Price with Robert Morley in
Theater of Blood. :eww:

No, I was just going for the German assassin archetype. Had no particular movie in mind.

Well, at least he's well on the road to recovery! :D

Picked up the infernal feline today before work. According to Mr. X-ray (ka-ching!) the damaged lung has reinflated slightly, so it may return to being at least partially functional. Or not. Since the surgery didn't happen, the bill is about 25% lower than it could have been (yay), but depending on how he does, it still might happen later. I told the doc that if they do take the lung out, I want it in a jar of preservative so I can at least use it as a conversation piece. She agreed.
His life for the next month will include staying inside while his lung power returns (he's gonna hate that), antibiotics 3 times a day (ditto), and eating as much as he wants (he'll love that). First thing he did when he arrived was run over to the food dish and chow down like he's been starving, despite the fact that he's had food available 24/7 at the clinic.
I was amused by the stickers on his chart which said:
HANDLE WITH CAUTION
WILL BITEWell yeah, I'd bite too if you did that stuff to me.
Turns out that the German Assassin assistant there is actually a Russian immigrant. Borscht jokes were made.
Guess I'll stop making updates until something new happens here. Got an appointment to get him looked at again in a week, so we'll see.

All this reminds me of Redd Foxx. He had a schtick about people having accidents with thier cars because they try to avoid cats in the road.
His attitude was no way would he wreck his 10,000 dollar Cadillac for a 50 cent cat. And the blood washes off easily.
